    Default monk rogue aa

    this is a character a friend requested i work on building for him, feel free to rip it apart.

    he had a few things i worked in
    1. he would like trapping
    2. he will use a +3 all stat tome
    he wanted base stats of 8 15 16 8 18 8 but i couldn't let that slide.

    so here it is Tree, Quicksilver, The Harmonious Archer, merry christmas ^^

    You could have a look at this idea that I had for a rogue/monkcher build.

    Regarding the build that you have there;

    I'd suggest to increase strength to 14 to avoid wasting a feat on weapon finesse and you'll have to melee occasionally to build Ki.

    I'd adjust the level split to 12 monk, 2 rogue. 13 monk gives nothing. 2 rogue will give crucial skill points and wand and scroll mastery I which will be excellent for self sufficiency.

    Dump dilettante cleric and max out UMD instead. Cleric dilettante is great from level 1-10 but after that it's too easy to have a good UMD score (on my recent rogue I had cleric dilettante until level 12). With ranger levels you can wand heal already anyway.

    You need close to maximum ranks in concentration to be able to maintain enough Ki for 10k stars. Diplomacy will be an important ability to shed the aggro that you will inevitably get from 10k stars/manyshot. Move silently is an amazing ability that I wouldn't miss (combined with invisibility/shadow fade makes fine stealth).

    Power Critical is a wasted feat, take improved critical: ranged instead.

    Overall, I like the 12 monk / 6 ranger but I don't think you'll fit trap skills onto it without some sacrifices on a theme that really can't afford to be sacrificing (without epic gear to back it up). This is my take on the 12 monk/6 ranger/2 fighter split as a reference point.

    that first post was a very rough toss it out the window testrun with the creator to try an get some input / feedback. whats up there now is my final version, levels need to be done as they are or it'll end up missing its prestiges by quite a bit

    for level 1 just grab a q-staff and slap **** around (if you can get the staff of nat gan at 4 (chronoscope) it'll be a nice fallback item for quite a while (dex attack and dmg, +4 dex) bow should be an acceptable option by loevel 4 pending millions of sturdy arrows.'

    later on shortswords will be the fallback wep of choice as they are finessable, monk weps cause of ninja spy and are effected by fury of blows.

    as far as weapon finesse is concerned there's a extra monk class feat in there that i really couldn't assign anything useful to, it was either finesse or deflect arrows >.< lol

    the rogue was 1 of his req's so i tried to work it in where it would be fesable, i dont thinkm it will miss too much. unless i miss my mark it should have atleast a modified search of 36-40 np, w/o int skill boosts / heroism epics might be rough but normal elites should be fine (my bard rogue made do with a 35 and g-heroism

    i should have mentioned that this is a build for a friend whom has taken the time to farm out his epics, and has done far more then i ever do to prep for my tr's ^^

    2 Rogue for Wand and Scroll Mastery I is vastly superior to Monk 13 (which gives basically nothing).

    Swap Weapon Finesse for Stunning Fist and never EVER use shortswords considering that with so many monk levels your fist damage will be vastly superior to shortsword damage (even with 1 monk level fists are superior in just about all situations).

    I still think that you don't have enough skill points and you are missing out on crucial skill abilities like UMD and Diplomacy.

    funny you found this build. This is the exact build I am building now. My TR before this had a touch of 1 cleric instead of rogue but I will be rogue now. Touch of death AA 10k stars ninja monk. very high AC and use dex to hit. mid strength. improved precise shot at level 15. You have to be careful taking the feats. I recommend ranger early on for the sp and multishot. you can grab ranger AA early on then re enhance to pick up elf AA later on. I skip out on toughness since she is so hard to hit using a 20% blur item and incorporeal with about 70 AC or more. You miss out on improved crit with blunt weapons but doesn't matter too much with touch of death and light hand wraps <-- needed for undead for some good undead ghost touch weapon. Use a cloak of shadows from the event that has ghost touch on it and night mare guard +1 dodge or +2 dodge and 5 dr/good. I use Dragon touched armor. +4 insight AC, Fortification, +6 AC, +5 protection I think. I might change that up but its easy to change. I use a hat of +5 natural armor from the pirate event. Necklace Oremis extra ki. Eventually get the ring to go with that. I think i use the epic buccaneers ring and the +5 protection is redundant so might change the armor in the future. I get the greater 2 weapon fighting feat on it towards the end. Not sure why but I remember you have to be careful with how you choose your feats with this build. I highly recommend the character planner. The free spell resistance at monk 13 is nice because it increases your untouchability and frees up an equipment slot. and equipment in this game is really what makes a character.
