Default Nightshield stack with item enchant resist?

    Greetings

Does the +1/2/3 bonus from Nightshield stack with the item enhantment resistance? They seem to do the same and I am slowly learning that in DDO this often means they dont stack - so I figure I best ask and learn.

No, it doesn't stack. Which is why I could never understand the strange popularity of Nightshield among arcanes - I'd much rather take Shield and at least get a +4 AC bonus (which is actually relevant at lower levels). Most people should be using Superior Stability, which is +6 to saves starting level 3, the same level Nightshield gives you a whopping +1.

There is one I know that will. Belt of Tongue. But that is because the "name" bonus is not the same.

the reason i picked nightshield over shield was cause im lazy.

sure it provides the ac bonus at low levels, but is that really that long?

i pick it so i dont have to switch it out later.

Why would you need to switch anything out? The only real benefit of either of them is to protect from magic missile, and Shield at least provides a low level benefit - Nightshield never provides an extra benefit.

If you're a Cleric and Nightshield is your only choice, then sure.

In the low levels I use Shield. Once AC doesn't matter any longer I use Nightshield, just in case my resist item gets removed for an item swap and I forget to swap it back in. I like the partial redundancy it offers because I'm quite absent minded sometimes.
