    Thumbs up Elob Speed run,Thelanis,38 mins

    Very fast and nice run...Excellent coordination among the party
    We managed to beat him down in 38 mins ..I will post the tankin techinque we apply which seems to be the best choice for managing him , in later date with video.For now a quick tankin guide to achieve best speeds http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=355170

    Well done folks. Never tried a speed run myself, but are times are slowly coming down. The amount of communication and coordination it took to achieve this must certainly have been epic.
    I never made the argument you attribute to me. I do think however that lots of exploited Epic items and +3 tomes could allow an already very good group to shave significant time off of beating down an boss.

    Nice. Don't address the comments just a poor attempt to deflect. Is your position that having epic equipment didn't assist in the achievement of this goal? It could have been achieved using starter equipment?

    So why don't you go and tell us them what epic items you think they made that allowed them to complete this in 38 minutes, estimate the DPS gain via said items (and tomes), and then estimate the comparable time if they hadn't had these supposedly ill gotten items? How about you do something other than accuse a group of exceptional players of nefarious activity?

    Have you looked at the hotbars in the screenshot?

    And of course your request is impossible and you know that. There are way too many unknown factors. What we do know is that this was posted --after-- the exploits occurred and not before. It is also well known that a very high percentage of the individuals involved in the exploits are from well known, well connected, end-game guilds. It is of course possible that it just so happens that a group of individuals all from well known, well connected end-game guilds happened to post their best completion time after such drastic exploits have occurred. It is also possible that California will be hit by 22 hurricanes in 2012... just really unlikely.

    Well thats it .. no +3 tomes at all in this toon...gear that most experience players can aquire in a moderate amount of farm or time ...

    If there is any gear that is enabling faster runs it is the blasting chime working properly. A no save always on -20% fort effect is a big bost to beating him down. There is no exploiting being done in getting that.

    Familiarity and mastering of techniques is the other reason we are seeing a significant drop in times.

    The wiki says that the Weaken Construct effect only works on non-living constructs, not living constructs like the Lord of Blades. Does the wiki need updating or are you less than 100% sure?

    patch 12.1 fixed this absolutely sure, wiki needs updating on a lot of things btw

    Heh not exactly a standard gear set for most players. What gear would you say takes more then a moderate amount of farm time then? excepting the E-SSR of course?

    Well u gotta a point ..without knowing good farming techinques which i took for granted saying that,would be bit hard and time consuming to aquire all equipment needed . But we r talking about epic runs of 1 of the most demanding and difficult raids, both build wise and strategy wise.So is to be expected that u need few gear and know-how to complete it . I think with a bit research and few good run mates u can aquire the needed stuff in a reasonable amount of time.

    Well done and excellent job of tanking.

    You really have to be a half-elf to truely execute this strategy. My guild is forced to do this basic strategy because we always end up with only one real tank all the time with the lack of tanks out there. The problem with none Half-elven tanks is the intimidate cooldown which mean they have to really manage the off tank melee. By managing I mean telling them when to come in and having them swing light in spots, etc due to the cooldown. Managing slows things down which is also more problematic from a resource standopint/success standpoint. It is also important to note how essential it is having experienced off tank melee that know when to stop swinging. The off tank melee can swing during a whirlwind when the main tank is blocking and then moving into the water thus pulling aggro which is catastrophic.

    I hope your friends have/or are building tanks so you have the opportunity to run your other characters.

    Agreed it is indeed bit tricky to execute this type of tanking with only 1 intim cooldown because u dont have backup as do helfs in case something go wrong (off-tank come in too late causing 2 or more dps to have same hate for example ).But still with an expierienced group is managable and not time consuming compared to regular beat and recover tactic.You just need to make very clear who is your hate dps and rest do not use any hate gear..also if he doesnt come in time on him to call it if u dont spot it.If those things are maintained u are ok.

    Yea im trying to convince em to build some tanks so i can play my casters also hehe...
