    Default A Question about LRing

So I want to LR an old character to bring him up to speed for all the new stuff now I just going to use random classes to demonstrate this and because its funny lets go with a Sorc/Cleric

    S
    C
    C
    C
    C
    C
    C
    C
    S

Now I want to make this Sorc/Cleric into a Cleric/Fighter/Rogue and the change (with a +3 LR) would look like this.

    1 S ---> Rogue
    2 C
    3 C
    4 C
    5 C
    6 C
    7 C
    8 C
    9 S---> Fighter

Now at lvl one It obvious that it makes me a Sorc/Cleric/Rogue...3 classes..I'm good...but Lvl 9 would i be considered a Fighter/Sorc/cleric/rogue so I would get an error or would it just consider me a Fighter/Cleric/Rogue because i took out the last sorc level?

Im not sure I understand properly.

at level 9 you are swapping out the 2nd sorc level yea? then you only have 2 classes, rogue, from level 1, 7 levels of cleric, then you click "level up" button and it will ask you what you want for level 9.

At first it will assume you want sorc, your 3rd class. But will give you the option to take something else, your fighter.... so you have 2 classes and are about to pick your 3rd.....

    If that makes sense.

Basically, no you wont get an error, If im understanding you correctly.

IF you left level 9 as a sorc then tried to take the fighter at level 10 it would tell you no. You would get the option to either

    A. Take whatever level 10 was,

    B. take a level of Either of the other 2 classes you already have.

I've been told (by both players and a dev) that when you LR your still consider a lvl 9 character (in this case your a 7CLeric/2Sorc) so at "level 1" your considered a lvl cleric/sorc so it allows you to take rogue...than at lvl 9 your STILL a cleric/sorc/rogue so will it ALLOW you to choose a different class or will it only give the choice of one of those 3.

Hmm.... Ok, im not 100% and I wouldnt go against the word of a dev.

I have LR'd a 3 class split before and if what you have been told is true I cant see how that would now work.

It was a while ago, so they could of changed it. Maybe if someone has LR'd a 2 class split and changed 2 classes in the process more recently would be better to advise.

If Im right in what you are saying though, It doesnt matter what classes or levels... it just the fact that your trying to change a 2 class split into a 3 class split.

Its hard for me to say what exactly the dev said because it was in PMs and I never asked if it was ok to share what he said so I'm avoiding quoting him. BUT he didn't say the above plan wouldn't work he just said...it MIGHT not because he's never tried it and isn't 100% sure how the game would handle it.

Now my new question is...If i get to lvl 9 and it won't let me take fighter can i just cancel out of my LR and start over?

Still looking for more clarification on my first question too.

Interesting question. Try it on Lamannia and report your findings?

I recently took an elf rogue 1 / rgr 7 / monk 3 and LR +3ed into rgr 6 / monk 4 / ftr 1 (in prep for monk 12 / rgr 6 / ftr 2, aka Yet Another Monkcher); i.e., got rid of the rogue level and replaced it with ftr. I don't remember the exact level sequence; but I know I replaced rogue at 1st lvl with rgr (so rgr 8 / monk 3 at that point), then traded the last two rgr lvls for ftr 1 and monk 4.

When doing an LR, as you showed, you will be able to make the change from sor/clc to rog/clc/ftr. PAY ATTENTION when doing it so that you make the second level change at nine. Once you start, there is NO going back. I.E. if you accidentally take sorc at level one- even choose it- that is what you get, and you get to do it again in a week.

Doing an LR is actually pretty easy, but if you are making changes, focus on the LR, read everything to make sure you understand what you are doing, and maybe have a checklist next to you so that you can check off what you have completed.

    Good Luck!
