Default True Stories of a TR1

    Greetings!

I had run my first character to the level cap (20), and within a couple days was having the TR itch. I was at 10 Shroud completions with the intention of getting 20 under my belt (and bagging a cleansing treatment), but didn't have it in me, so I did some heavy organizing and have traded in the old Dystopia for something fresh and new.

I proceeded to complete snowy Korthos (all elite, bravery bonus now up to 9!), and am now about to embark on a bravery run through the early level quests on my long journey back to cap - where this time I might just stay a while.

Here is a snapshot of Dystopia (not counting gear, which will be referenced in post #3) having just finished Korthos.

Dystopia, TR1 (Fighter), True Neutral Human L3 Cleric
Stats (base): STR 14, CON 16, INT 10, WIS 18
Feats (purchased): Toughness, Empower, (L3) Past Life: Student of the Sword
Skills (purchased): Concentration: 6, Balance 3, Spot 3
Enhancements: Follower of the Sovereign Host, Human Improved Recovery I, Improved Heal I, Cleric Life Magic I, Cleric Wisdom I

Advice and encouragement is absolutely welcome, and please stay tuned for milestone check-ins through the life of the character.

    Best Wishes!

    Default Gear

So I have a useful gear cache, from playing on and off since the release of the game (though I did have one huge notable setback in this regard, which is a story for another thread), that I expect to help make this leveling effort go fairly well. To avoid a massive data dump that nobody wants to read, I will simply list the gear I am breaking out at each significant character milestone.

    Post Korthos (L3):
Cloven Jaw War Beads (+2 CON Neclace)
+6 Dex ring (BtA, no min-level)
Phiarlan's Pendant of Time (fast city travel)
+2 Heavy Adamantine Shield w/ Medium guild slot (crafted) - note my guild level is 57, so while large is better in theory, medium slotted items are the best I can currently use
    Nicked Longsword
    Nicked Heavy Mace
Nicked Longbow (no proficiency, but good to have for pulling distant enemies)
Eternal Wand of Cure Minor Wounds
Acrobat's Ring (not great, but useful until as a default ring I can swap when needed)
Feather Falling Boots (BtA, no min-level)
Gatewarden's Girdle (belt, +2 fort save, light fortification)
Glowing Circlet (+5 concentration, doesn't take an item slot)
    Gargantuan Ingredients Bag
    Huge Collectables Bag

I guess it is too late to point out that the difference between 14 and 16 con on any half way decently geared character with access to quickened heal and healing amp is almost negligible? In contrast, 2 extra radiant servant bursts is amazing for keeping more of your SP for fun stuff like blade barrier and divine power.

Skills wise I'm not sure why youre taking spot. Concentration, UMD are the important ones, imo. From level 7 with access to a +2 int tome I'd add points to balance. Always have 1 whole rank in tumble to activate the ability.

Feats wise I can only suggest to have empower, maximize and empower heal by level 6 so you can blast your way through delera's. Superior Ardor V helps bursts too. I'd even have extra turning at this level and then swap it out later.

If you're going to take any skill for detecting things, take Search. Between buffs, your stat points, and gear, you'll easily be able to hit a 50+ Search buffed.

Though UMD is better than Search or Spot.

BYOH. Know it, abide by it, or don't mess with those who do.
