This sounds fun. If you don't mind a random stranger, I'd be interested in the 6th slot. Probably ranger or maybe a paladin (back-up meat shield?). I'm in the US eastern time zone.

Weekends works best for me,too. Pretty much all day Saturday is open and Sunday afternoon (after 1pm EST/10am PST). My home internet can be flaky sometimes, but I can easily get to a location with good broadband.

You mentioned vendors are ok to use, does that include the brokers, too?

Excellent, you can never have too many big guys for the casters to hide behind! Nope, no problems with complete strangers. As to brokers, they're fine as long as you don't get on your alt, sell a bunch of magic items, and come back to buy them. Brokers are usually expansive enough to be fair

    Default All good.

Well, sounds all good to me.

For me, the best time to game would be around 00 or 01 PM ( In EST GMT ) aswell.

So what day is better: saturday or sunday? I like saturday better, but both work for me.

And, we still need a bard!

Generally speaking it's a little easier for me to get to good internet on Sunday, but Saturday works almost as well.

Should we get our characters rolled up, through the grotto, and waiting in Korthos?

Alright, so I guess that's one vote for Sunday? Or is that a neutral vote?

I was originally thinking we skip the grotto and meet up in Sunny-side Korthos, but snowy Korthos would be much better for roleplaying. Plus, running through Korthos Elite would: 1) Give us all a 50% Bravery bonus by the time we reach Misery's Peak 2) Let us learn each other's play-styles in and easy environment and 3) Only take an hour or three. So that's a good idea; let's all roll up characters and be ready in snowy-side Korthos. Don't run any quests afterwards, though!

The one problem I can see is that there's no mailbox in Korthos, so I won't be able to send you all guild invite sigils. But if we all add each other as friends, we'll be able to do the invitation in a few minutes during the first day we play.

So roll up your toon on Thelanis and post his name here. Probably would be a good idea to post class in the same place, too.

    What we have so far:

    Frontliner:Annwyn, Fighter
    Arcane Caster: Babale, Sorcerer
    Divine Caster: Nymdrin, Cleric
    Skill Monkey: Lilleengen2, Rogue
    Buffer:
    Sixth Man: PhotoRob, Paladin

So we still need a buffer... Or, Annwyn said he could play a bard if someone else wanted to be a fighter. What do you guys think, can we make due with 5 players and PhotoRob's Paladin as our frontliner?

ETA: I suppose we could also go without a bard, but buffs would be nice. My (projected) spell list is already pretty full, and while I wouldn't mind picking up Blur or Greater Heroism, I think the party would benefit greatly from a specialized buffer.

I almost forgot... Our party needs a name!

I made my character (Name's Babale) and put him through the grotto. I'll park him in Korthos until you guys are ready.

To update, Annwyn decided to take the role of Bard, and his friend has decided to play the fighter instead. So we now have 6 party members!

I'm in too. Madelhine, human paladin. Currently perched on the small balcony overlooking the Korthos village square, watching for evil (a post most befitting a paladin).

I'm willing to attempt the role as the frontliner, but I must warn everybody that it's a role I've not had much experience with. (Truthfully, I haven't filled many party roles at all that often - being primarily a soloer).

    My general vote is for Sundays, but Saturdays are almost as good. This Saturday I'm actually completely free and happen to be house-sitting with excellent internet;

Would we be using primarily guild or party chat? (Affects my placement of chat windows).

Party chat wil be used for IC and guild chat will be used for OoC.

When do you guys want to start? My schedule is very chaotic until the new year, but I might be able to ensure playtime...

This weekend is open for me if everyone else is available. The Christmas and New Years weekends are probably going to be pretty tight.

I just noticed that collectable bags are 50% off today. Would that be an acceptable sole exception to the no store rule? It would make life so much easier space wise.

Well, it IS just a bag... I'd discourage it, but I wont ban it. Consumables, items, portable shrines, etc are definetely out, though.

Regarding your paladin as a frontliner, what general plan do you have for his build? And my sorcerer will orobably practice necromancy, so things could get.... Interesting, RP wise.

The current build (can you call level 1 a "build"?) is here: http://my.ddo.com/character/thelanis/madelhine.

I was reading the "paths revisited" as a guide (http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p...3&postcount=19) with a couple tweaks. Instead of UMD I'm maxing intimidate with extra points probably into balance. I figured on doing to level-ups into strength (to get improved & greater THF) and the rest into charisma.

I'm thinking of taking exotic weapon: bastard sword, if I can find some good ones and going sword & board - b-swords get glancing blows from THF now (verified with a test run on a ranger I have). (Besides, I like bastard swords, I can't really explain why ).

I'll probably need some advice getting the AC high enough to make a difference at higher levels.

That's pretty much my plan, such as it is. If you think I'm off my rocker here, it's certainly not too late to change things up.

    Default Playing Time

Hey just wanted to check in here and say that I'll now be playing a bard, and my friend, who I don't think is on the forums, will be playing the fighter. Between the fighter and the paladin I suspect we should be ok for frontline. We'd both prefer to play Saturdays, but Sundays are doable. And we could both play this weekend.

This sounds great, Babale. Thanks for organizing it.

Even if it is suboptimal, a paladin in shining armor swinging a bastard sword while wielding a tower shield seems so badass that it makes up for it!

This Saturday is probably a no-no for me, I believe I'm going skiing. And after that is the holidays... should we just wait for the first Saturday of the new year?

I'd like to suggest that, just so we can all keep track of each other, we add each other on some form of IMing program... my vote is for Skype, but I can do MSN, AIM, or anything else, really.

We can do that Babale. I still haven't downloaded skype, but will if that's what people want.

    Default Time?

Did we settle any time yet?

By the way, I am all for skype.
