Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is not available in your region
To maintain a high quality of service, only certain regions worldwide will be able to pre-order Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
So I guess Servicemen (military and/or those of us serving abroad on other matters) cannot access it because we'd be compromising quality?
Oh well, back to Fantasy Medieval Grindage..................

Might have to check this out. Wouldnt mind playing with fellow sarlonas.
Meh... a couple of days into SWTOR and I'm not greatly impressed. Cenematics are cool, voices over the NPC quest givers are cool, but it's yet another WoW (again). It really just made me appreciate DDO even more.

The stories are good, the voicing is great, flashpoints are pretty fun, but overall, it would have made a better single-player or co-op game, rather than an MMO. I was in the beta starting this May and I watched it deteriorate and get dumbed down with each new build. I guess it would be pretty cool to someone who has only played WoW, and it does have the fanboy "YAYSTARWARS" appeal, but coming from DDO, the combat, questing and social tools are SORELY lacking.
It's too bad for Bioware, but I think I saw the clumsy corporate hand of EA pushing them down.
I'm sure I'll check it out again once it goes F2P in a few months, if only to see the finished product.
Edit: I'd like to add that if you're ever losing your faith in your fellow DDO players as a result of reading these forums, go on over and take a look at the SW:TOR forums. Makes here look like a Rhoades Scholarship convention.

i've actually enjoyed taking a break from grinding xp(during this lag fest) to play some swtor casually to enjoy the story. im really looking at it as kotor 3.
if the end game is good enough ill stick with it. but im not holding my breath
on the Terentatek server at the moment
I have been on hedaar soongh for a few days.
Got my digital copy just now and the client is downloading up. Gonna roll up a Jedi or Sith tank on the Telos Restoration Project server. May the force be with you!

I wonder if QE will try and scroll heal through and EPIC Emperor fight ;p
I really like SW:TOR. Character building is insanely easy early (because everything is pre-determined until level 10) but the gameplay is pretty smoothe overall. There are definitely some features that are lacking, but the game has been out for 3 days - it will come around.
I will say, though, that the players don't seem to be all that great. The Sith Inquisitor has crowd control for a reason - use it. If you want to play a guy who just runs around and hits things with a lightsaber, you picked the wrong class...

Have not experienced any que times as of yet, although I have only been playing 2~ days. Having capped toons in WoW(Cata DK Tank) and DDO. It is most definately not a wow-clone. The combat is not like wow, and its not like ddo which is a good thing. The questing structure is tasteful and being able to be in missions with your friend and have it feel like your in a movie is awesome. I would say check it out! I am on the Telos Restoration Project server playing a Dark Side Assassin Tank-spec(Darkness Build).
