Was going to be a returning player after a break from the game, however the lousy app they use to dl is not working very fast and for stretches not at all. Does anyone else know where I can find another sight or torrant to dl the high res client?

I'd like a link to the high-res client download as well (assuming it doesn't use Pando Media Booster).

You mean that this link
http://content.turbine.com/sites/cli...do/ddohigh.exe
off this page
http://www.ddo.com/en/ddosupport/download-ddo
does not work for you?
No Pando Media Booster stalls out. Tried everything I can think of to make it work for the last three days. It fluctuates btwn 0 and 72 kbs with 0 being the dominate. Tried shutting down anti virus and making sure the firewall was allowing the usual stuff. My dl speed is fine its something to do with pando.

Exactly what quickgrif said.
Other than that it sometimes gives me a nice estimate of 1284 hours until it's done downloading. I have checked DNS and tried setting it to Google's Public DNS (like the FAQ recommends), and set it back to automatic. Nothing changed.

My Hi-Res download has been stuck at 0kbs for 3 hours now. The downloader is officially broken and Turbine needs to fix it so I can play the game.
I have a copy of the high rez file I forgot I kept on the external hard drive lol. I will have to figure a way to set it up for others. Anyone have a good site to do so?
