Default Name Your Lamest Game Hero...

Everyone has one. Maybe it was a really popular game hero, maybe it wasn't. We all have that one game hero that your friends liked but to you, they were just... so very LAME! Post your's, and maybe give a reason if you would like.

Mine would be Link. Really I think the game should have been Zelda saving him, because she seems tougher! I mean, look at him. Tights, skirt, long hair with a lame hat, dies easy, plays the flute, chases after a triangle that you make into a bigger triangle. Lame. I would not be surprised if he sparkled in the sunlight.

(As a side note, Mega Man was a close second for me).

Inspector Gadget, Hong Kong Fooy, any child "super hero" in an adult world. (aka "robin" Tim Drake as seen in BtAS, the kid in the many forms of Gatchaman)

Az, while I am a fan of Link and I respect your opinion, I have to call you on the skirt bit. Link doesn't wear a skirt per his normal dress. If you think he does, you need to review your understanding of clothing.

I think Donkey Kong has to be up on my list somewhere.

I have to call you out on the link-skirt thing. He wears a tunic. Very simply, its a long shirt that you belt down sometimes. The fact that he plays a flute and has long hair has no hold on me since I do the same (and yes, technically it is a flute. A whistle is technically a flute too).

However, I do love that picture!

Navi or Tattle? Or should we make a new one of annoying/worthless sidekicks?

I disagree on the tunic. In the pictures of men wearing a tunic or toga I find, it goes to low-mid thigh or high knee. Link clearly wears something that is 3-8 inches shorter than that (depending on the version of Link). However, there are many pictures of women wearing a tunic or toga of that length.

Tunic or skirt, he still wears tights under it in many pictures, which is very lame. Tights are lame, Tunic, Toga, appropriate, or not. I will only change my mind if The Doctor wears them.

Depending on the time period and culture, men sometimes would wear long up to ankle length tunics, so really there is a very wide possible range. In any case, its not a skirt regardless since that's a separate piece of clothing. Arguing that he wears a dress is more appropriate (although still taking things from the wrong way).

As to tights, I don't think that's always accurate:

Those rather look like pants to me.

I know at least in a few cases he doesn't even have pants/tights at all.

It's also possible he's wearing chausses.

On the proper way to wear a toga:

Now I admit that it is rather difficult to tell from this picture whether the toga reaches all the way to the ankles or stops mid-thigh. I happen to think that this is a Good Thing(tm).

And that is why you are completely and UTTERLY wrong.

"fitted to the body at the waist and fuller below"

Link has NEVER worn a skirt. Tunic of varying lengths that is apparently disturbing to your current modern day cultural senses, sure. But never a skirt.

    And per your dr. request...

    Dress.

Afterall, we know who likes to wear the pants in that family. And it isn't her. She'd just love two of him at once. Wouldn't that be a dream.
And only reason why I really understand the difference is because my wife was getting ticked at me for getting confused about dresses vs. skirts.

Exactly why aqua isn't lame, but the writers of him are. They never abuse his powers to the fullest.

Heck, you could drop a building on him, and it wouldn't phase him, honestly. 1 building, or several tons of pressure under the ocean which would be worse?

Same like the Flash. Everyone knows he's supper fast, but think about the fast balls he could throw. Now think about how many he could throw per second. Now put him in a gravel pit. Can we say "ouch" yet? He'd suffer the same problems a soldiers with automatics. All ammo out in a matter of 2 seconds, then what?

I suppose the biggest problem I have with his outfit is that it looks more appropriate for walking through a field picking flowers than fighting an evil wizard. Maybe if he did something more effective than change the color he wouldnt be so impossibly squishy.

btw, looking at the different official Link pictures, what is with the change in dominant hands? He seems to more often be left handed, but sometimes he is right handed.

He's left handed. You started seeing a change when the released Twilight for Wii. You swing the controller, most people are right handed. So they took the Gamecube version and mirrored it so this would work.
