Cool Hire myself out as a hireling

would like to see the option to setup one of my toons and press a " create hireling button" and poof i have a hireling contract with my guy in it...
useable by my chars of higher level

im leaving payment options open to discussion as this will be a big issue... "plat, ddo point, ect..."

id have the main bar setup as his spell list and only the last 4 "7-10" work just like the normal hirelings do...

we could mabye even hire ourselvs out to others...
    auction out our guys
imagine people actully waiting for the new {your name here} hireling... "that last one worked out so well"...

just cant use yourself as a hireling...
    that would be weird...

go on so far as to make it a contest to see who can make the best hireling for a ddo point prize....
being choosen by the sales numbers in the auction house...

Assuming you could be hired by others, could it be griefable? Brings new meaning to the hireling standing in the acid pool trying to heal itself. "Go on, die, ***** ..."

Log back on days later and find all your gear has been broken thanks the the rough treatment you got. It might even foster a new respect for the hard work the standard hirelings do when you realise how many times you got killed, and see that repair bill...

But more seriously, I can't see it happening. It's hard enough programming the AI for a hireling that gets what, 4 or 5 spells or actions. And once the technology is good enough to make them self-aware, then doooooOOOOOOOOmMMMMMmMMmmmm!!!!!!1!1!1!!! is upon us all!

Edit: Unless they weren't so much a hireling as a puppet. But that's a new set of issues.
    Goe ahed... korekt mah spelin'.
