So I was thinking, since turbine seems to have moving platforms down and working, why not have something a little more awesome: an aerial airship battle.
To be clear, I'm not talking some cop-out battle where they have two static airships next to each other, but one where someone has to pilot the air ship, with spells, cannons, and arrows firing back and forth, making sure the ship doesn't take too much damage, repelling boarders, boarding the enemy airship (perhaps to reacquire a stolen object, so you can't destroy their ship yet?).
Balance checks if the ship turns sharply and quickly or takes a major hit or is rammed (or ramming) by the other ship. If someone is not actively piloting the ship, it begins to fly out of control.
I'd be okay even if the three dimensional air space was limited in height, just so that you can't fly ridiculously high above the enemy or something.
As far as controlling the airship, they seem to have shapechanging worked to some degree, so just make the airship the player's character when they are piloting it, until they get hit by something at which point they'd go back to normal and the ship would be out of control.
I think this sort of thing would be an awesomely fun quest. If made well, there could be so many ways to approach it in order to succeed, as well as different roles you could fill during the quest.
