This is my list of suggested improvements for the use of Guild Ships. I wont lay claim to brilliance as most of these have likely already been suggested (and if so I commend the original posters for their wisdom and attractiveness). However, as they have not been implemented, I figured that having them repeated for the benefit of the developers would not be a bad thing.
- Remove the confirmation dialog when clicking on the door of the ship tower. Just put me on the ship. The confirmation is unnecessary as 99.9% of the time the person is wanting to go on the ship. For the .1% who misclicked, they can simply leave the ship by talking to the captain. People without a ship can get the current message that you get when you say you want to board your non-existent ship.
- Remove the loading screens on the ship. It is a ship for frack sake its not a 200 hectare quest area. It is not big enough to need a loading screen. If that means you need to remove the "below decks" and flatten the ship then do it. Or leave the below decks as a party room but put all the hookpoints above deck so you don't need to hit the loading screen.
- Remove the extra level of dialog when talking to a crew mate. These are my servants. I click and they buff. I don't need a "Hello" preamble. I can tolerate a single dialog if absolutely necessary but the 2 dialogs to click through?? What insolence! Flog 'em!!
- Ship buffs do not count down while on the ship. I can buff up and hang out on the ship with full 60 minute timers. I can buff and check out the auctions and do inventory management and still be ready to go when a pug is willing to accept my piking butt. I would also accept that the buffs do not count down while in public areas but that might be too much for the devs so I offered this compromise.
- Add a means to get all buffs in one click. Just like it sounds. I get everything. At once. If you fear this overpowered, you can make it so that this feature is a new crew mate (or shrine) that you have to use a hookpoint to access. Call it "Alfred the Butler". If turbine needs a better reason, make it Gold Seal only and they can make cash on it.
- Add a means to refresh all timers by 7 days. Use a crew or shrine hookpoint for it if you need to reduce its power a little. Make it Gold Seal only if you need $$ to make this an attractive option.
- Allow the captain to maintain a guild account to pay for ship buffs. Guild mates can deposit some plat and any buffs purchased will first be paid from the account. The account can only be used for crew or shrine purchases.
- Change the elemental resists to 3, 6, 9 stacking buffs. All the other buffs stack with spells and items. I don't see why the elemental buffs should be the same as spell effects. It also means that level 2's won't be running with 30 pt resists - something they shouldn't get for 9 more levels.
- Put crew mates as randomly rescue-able NPCs in quests. If you rescue a crew you can put him on your ship regardless of the guild level. These should be rare but it might give a taste of the big guild favors to small casual guilds on occaison. For the large guilds it would be like finding a few hundred plat.
