    Default New Rule

In the vein of Bill Maher: New rule - all mnemonic pots in raids get shifted to healers from any melee. Casters and healers keep what they get.

I think this is extremely fair since the healers are the ones keeping the melee up (I don't know that many self sufficient DPS in a raid especially end game stuff). From someone that plays both I would be more that willing to trade those that drop on my DPS toons to healers. And as a healer I know that it would be nice to feel some love from the expecially needy DPS that sits there and takes it expecting a healer to keep him up.

Easy to enforce as well as the healers will remember whether or not it happened and either decide not to heal for that person/guild again. That and peer pressure can result in the handover of "accidentally" looted pots. That or the healer could just decide not to heal for the rest of the raid.

    Thoughts?

While I think players should be giving some resources for healers and casters (in heavy caster dependant quests), forcing anyone to do anything with his/her loot is a bad idea, for example this melee you just blacklisted migth be saving up mama pots for time when he plays his own healer, paladids may sometime drink a mana pot (but rather not a major one) for heals, smites etc.

Depends on the raid. I dont always pass them as I loot them to give to healers on the tougher raids.

/not signed. What if I need it for my healer who is low on potions?

What if the quest didn't need potion use?

What if the healer wasn't efficient and used up potions where he really shouldn't of had to, but still got everything done with no problems?

I should be able to decide where my potions go. If I have some to spare and the healer used some saving a bad situation, then ya, I'll pass them some. If they used one or two potions? Well maybe I should pass them one maybe I shouldn't. IMO, the occasional one or two potion situation should be considered accounted for consumable use, like people carrying cure potions, remove curse potions, heal scrolls etc, sometimes you need to use stuff.

I save my potions for when a healer puts in extra to make sure the group pulls through.

IMO this would just create more problems and drama we don't need.

No way ! The only reason half of us rolled melee's is cuzz everyone knows they got goodluck when it comes to looting mana pots. My blue bars never loot them :/

You want more sp potions. Roll up a Barb!

    No.

There's a reason none of my non-casters don't carry around pots. It's because they're busy giving all the pots they find to my casters and healers.

I don't think it should be mandatory to give all your pots to the healers (Or arcanes, in some cases). However, for certain raids, I'm quite fond of the 1-pot buying for melees (Looking at you, eChrono). Losing 1 pot isn't a huge loss, but getting 3-4 pots on a healer can be a huge gain. Personally, I always PM healers after ANY run if I think they used pots to see how many they used. That way I can reimburse them if needed.

But again, I don't think it should be mandatory.

IDK, I almost never use pots for PUGs. Either we make it on my blue bar and heal scrolls, or we don't make it.

There are few situations that are not doable with just those 2 resources. When there are exceptions (i.e. I know when joining the quest that I will need to drink pots to complete), I'll ask for some to supplement what I put in.

But in quests that should be done easily without pots, no pots will be used.

After reading this it is releiving to read the over welming NOs that have been posted. Have to add my /notsigned as well. If you want loot drama just ask I can provide it, but no ones getting my pots.

    As a Divine, /no.

While it is nice gesture to pass a pot willingly, There are times when Divines Do Not Deserve them. Take this post for Example: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=352938 This Cleric Does not Deserve the pots from Pts 1,2,3 for acting like this. I am not a very good tipper, because I feel Tips should be for when things are better than ho-hum, and when I say wow, you deserve something more.

Also, I have Melee and Arcane Characters as well, I pull more pots on my melee who passes them to my Cleric for when he needs, and to other clerics/FvS/Bards When I feel it is needed/warranted. A divine who blows all his mana on DoT's, and Blade Barriers in a Elite VoD and is bone dry by mini-halftime (in spite of being asked repeatedly not to) has not earned my pots.

Feel free to pass them to Divines if you feel you want to, but don't make it mandatory

So your all's main concern is that you pass them to your healers? Then why do I see sp pots on the AH for ridiculous prices? Some people are clearly not running healers.

Personally I have 7 capped toons. 4 Multi-TR's. 2 Casters, 2 FvS, 1 Cleric, 2 Barbs, 1 Monk, 2 Fighters, and 1 Rgr all raiding at lvl 16 and up. I also use my melee's to funnel sp potions to my casters and healers. However, the number of times that I have gotten stiffed on a TOD/LOB or an Epic runs where I chugged pots to save the day beyond count. LOB is hard to get out of without chugging a pot or two. It happens, but normally when everything goes exactly to plan and the tank is not a no-healing-amp-having-using-Frenzy-all-the-time-clueless-12AC Barb (only slight exaggeration). I guess I could always just say eff it my bar is done get to self healing. Or do what I do now and keep all my healers on anon so I don't get massive tells asking to heal raids and keep sticking to my guild raids.

My point was that I would be more willing to heal if I knew I wasn't going to walk away with less than I came into the raid with (cause loot rarely will cover the cost to replace pots off the AH).

As for those that say they always offer to give pots after a raid. True, there are players like that and it is a pleasure gaming with them. However, be honest. Out of 12 people in the raid 1, maybe 2 at the outside, might do this. I have heard the "Give some love to the healers" announcements as well, but that rarely bares fruit either.

I guess it is just a bit annoying seeing melee with no blue bar walk away with sp pots when I used some to keep their rears up so they could loot anything at all.

Disclaimer: the following is mildly exaggerated and is not intended to offend any individual.
Disclaimer: The following is not directed at any divine that can and has carried a party through a raid or epic.

    /rant on
Why do divines need so much babying with their SP bars? over and over I see threads from divines claiming some right to everyone else's pots. Yet all the time I never see the arcanes that are spending their SP making it possible for the divines to actually heal a group. And I never see threads from arcanes begging for peoples pots.

Now I know there are some pretty good divine casters out there, but lets face it, most of the ones out there are little more than heal bots... they spend all there time healing the melees and telling the arcanes to heal them selves. Now this is just my perspective but the average

    divines:
    heal melee
    pretend not to pike
res people after they do something dumb
    complain about lag
    DP boss... occasionally
tell people to self heal moar
blame poor dps and arcane for sucking if run out of sp

    Arcanes:
Buff party so healers can save SP
    Instakill everything
Mass hold everything that can't be instakilled
web anything that can't be instakilled or mass held
maintain short duration buffs on party
    maintain continuous dots on bosses
Never run out of sp to avoid the label of gimp and get blacklisted
Never allow anything to ever pass a save against you less you be labeled a gimp and get blacklisted

That being said why don't more arcane casters ask for more pots... why is it just the healers that get to? Often times a healer is less needed by a party than a good arcane... and when a healer is needed, the party will literally take almost anyone.

I tried it once on my wizard after carrying 11 soulstones through a raid and killing the boss, and got laughed at. Now maybe it is inexperience, but I have never heard even once of people passing pots to an arcane. So please divines stop begging for my loot and learn how to manage your SP like everyone else has too.

Sick of whining divines who need my arcane to carry them through an epic.

So would casters assign all weapons and armour that fall to them over to melees?

    No thanks.

I have 3 capped fvses, a TRed cleric working his way back up, 3 capped sorcs and a level 19 sorc. I don't want the hassle of getting these turned over to me during the quest. And besides, it's very rare I actually use pots. Once during the last couple of months I've used several - and a very nice melee helped me out after.

On my melees, I stuff the pots into shared bank for taking out and giving to divines/arcanes after a horrid run, if that happens.

To all the people who say no.

I am out of SP, it's the 2nd round in part4 of the shroud, the other healer is dead, Arry's on 25%.

Do you expect me to drink a pot?

If I don't we all die. If I do we will kill arry and all get loot from part4, 5 and end reward. And it costs you nothing.

The melees should collect the pots to give to healers who actually used some, not to bribe healers to quest with them.

Expect? No. Would be happy if you did? Yes. Would reimburse you after? Yes. Would waste time and pots giving to casters/healers who likely won't need them beforehand, just in case? No.

    Default Oh Joy

Another loot entitlement thread. Not signed. I would sign removing all mana pots from the game before I signed this. Simply put, if you are drinking pots its your choice. You should not expect repayment. Don't like it then don't drink pots.

I do appreciate someone going the extra mile. I will try to tip them if I can. However, I should not be forced to tip all of the time, especially when the player didn't go the extra mile.

To use the shroud example above. I would love it if the healer chugged a pot or two and we completed part 4. I would also try to tip said healer.....I would also be perfectly fine with the healer saying, "Sorry OOM" and we fail. Thems the breaks.

Also what if my pots from parts 1-3 automatically went to the healer and in part 4 he decides we aren't gonna make it and recalls out?
