I have a picture for proof, we defeated the queen and the two chest popped up, we had the shrine up. We were unable to open the chest because it said we were unable to open the chest because we were not the on completion. Epic Fail!.
The DM's response is unsatisfactory due to a couple reasons. First I understand that he can't open the chest, but to make us fight her all over again is ignorant. If I was free to play and hadn't played this game is aug of 06 I wouldn't understand what GM's can and can not do. I know that you can spawn the queen and kill her outright. GM response or your defense of the GM would be unfair. GM's before have spawn and killed off creatures in quests before, so you have no set standard and your inability to monitor that is unsatisfactory.
Secondly, I know that the quest broke because of LAG. Now I know this is an on going issue with DDO since way before Tempest Rangers were introduced. The initial response was that people had bad connections and computers were not up to date. Things that have been done to combat lag that has been evident to players, but still did not help:Nerfed the alacrity of two weapon fighting by adding doublestrike, also made the who list disabled till the player activates it, plus software fixes on your end that seems to have not worked.
How do I complain about this without it being disregarded, or deleted of forums, or even banned? Why can't you all take a good hard look at the engine the game is operating on and do and overhaul. I know the system is old compared to many, and the newer game systems that are coming out are cleaner and smoother than this. Is it not true that LAG is one of the biggest killers in this game? Not to include glitches like, task bars not responding for casters or toons trying to use them from time to time; possible the quiver for rangers pulling twice the amount of arrows out of the quiver and fills inventory and does not pull but from the quiver. When the arrow from a bow is shot the graphics show the arrow being shot from behind the toon. Ladders, ladders, Ladders. During phases of a quest when there is a transfer from one phase to the next like TOR after killling a dragon, or shroud part one near chest for example where there is a big lag spike.
Some of the best players in this game are either putting up with this because of to long of duration in the game and don't want to start a new project, or perhaps are leaving to other MMO's. I know the executives are looking at income and stats instead of what the core players are doing. Start taking a look at your accounts after starwars comes out and some other games. See how many of the more productive ones come to free to play.
Lets see, I would love a personal response to this. Please ease my concerns and give me some good answers. If you would like to walk through with me I would love to have a sit down or even partner up in the game.
