twilight forge elite at level

didn't have much success getting this off the ground yesterday, so I am going to try again today.
I have a guildy flagged who had DD, so we really just need one more to get it done. any more and it'll just get done faster

I know I am dreaming here, but the xp is sick, and really, I just want to get it done.

The lfm will go up around 8:30 EST, levels 11-13 (will take a vet TR who knows the quest at 10, but not a new person)

I'd be interested, but I'm afraid I am completely unflagged. Haven't even run HIPS (it's been on my list for a while, but I haven't gotten around to it).

So, if I could get some help with flagging, I could bring a level 13 monk.

true. or a helpful teleporter. however, if you do that, and don't have easy access to said ship or teleporter, you will have to beg for help every time you want to enter restless isles. HiPS can be done in less than 30 minutes on your first time ever, and solve that.

The lfm went up, as promised, at 8:30pm EST.

I actually got a few clicks. Two weren't flagged. Two left saying it couldn't be 4-manned.

so it wasn't 4-manned.

it was 2-manned.

I haven't had this much fun playing DDO in a long time. we had a couple of false starts. shook ourselves, and started fresh. Each run through the ogre traps had my heart beating (with full resists and protections, those traps would 2-shot us). Each ogre beat down was a game of tactical positioning (try standing in a hallway with 5 of them shooting at you, each shot for 20-30 hp...)

We went to Red first. My faithful hound proved she (yes. she. named after my cat. got a problem with that? :P ) can follow orders and open valves. With that out of the way, I was confident we'll make it (hah). The golems got kited and taken out one at a time. Next we went to green. no surprises there. The hallway to yellow almost undid us - two mind flayers, about 8 or 9 ogres, some wildman mystics, it got scary.

I died tyring to get the lightning traps in purple (I skipped them first time, wanting to see if we can get through red), and decided to skip those. Yellow took a long time and a lot of patience, but we managed. The second (tenth?) time we nearly got undone was in the last dash through the ogre traps. There are very few safe spots you can stop to catch your breath, and exavion couldn't get through it until I cleared one side and was halfway through the second.

The red-named mindflayer was almost a let down...

Big koodos to Exavion, who stuck it out with me. It was his first time through, but he played like a pro. There were numerous AFKs (RL creeps up on you during 3+ hours of play...), but I was having a blast!

What can I say... would love to join all the raids that appear on forums, particularly Titan, but 8.30 PM EST on weekdays is probably the worst possible time for European players. Might be I'm missing something, but I still suggest doing raids at times like 4-5 PM EST on weekends to get Americans, Europeans, and maybe early Asian and Pacific risers together.

I cant believe it. Seriously. How you guys did the observatory levers? I tryed 2-manning this to no avail. Couldnt get a second lever in time before the path disappeared. Was hasted and all.

Whats the trick there?

Gotta say if this isnt a jest it was some impressive work. Congratz.

Kind of sad you had to do it with two, but nice accomplishment.

Two lives ago I two-manned Twilight Forge (plus two clueless pikers) with Atma. Last life I ended up with a full 12 and actually had to turn people away! Running it on a Saturday and running a couple of flagging groups first certainly helped. We were even a shot away from beating the Titan, but a drow artificer felt like he wasn't given enough to do and shot out a couple of bottoms and doomed us.

I'm going to try to get an at-level Chrono group going this time around and definitely another Twilight Forge.

Funny you mentioned atma... we 3-manned a forge on hard a few weeks back (a different toon, different TR...) with a complete newbie. The guy didn't even have UA item, which made red rather exciting as we had two items for 3 people, and kept trading between us...

I didn't even bother with chrono. It's not easily short-manned elite at level, and the odds of getting a decent pug that would complete it are slim to none.

What I have found this life is that I have difficulty completing quests in pugs that require the group to accomplish something that I can't do myself. Von3 took 3 tries, as I couldn't solo the marut, for example, and don't get me started on hold for reinforcements. I got lucky with ghola fan, and a decent monk joined me and did the gauntlet. This has been true in previous TRs, but there was less I couldn't do... (i.e. had evasion, and/or cc, etc). My artificier can blow through any quest solo that requires killing, solving puzzles, traps, etc. but keeing NPCs alive or doing cc is not his forte...
