Artificer build

dropped my artificer at level 8 b/c i had dumped too many points into charisma (thinking it would help)

Premium account, no high level toons or past lives, never even had a character past level 8 (i'mma nub) Drow unlocked on my primary server via favor, no access to 32pt builds.

how neccessary is a 20 in int as a drow artificer?

im at the creation screen and it seems by going 20 int my dex and con suffer, both of which I rely on while leveling.

could someone help me in the ways of artificer? Mostly playing this character to solo, with utility/support/ranged burst whenever i do party quests

I'd suggest to stay away from drow. With only access to 28 point builds they aren't a bad choice but I think human is still superior due to healing amp and versatility: damage boost.

I'd suggest to have a look at my Einstein build here. For a 28 point build just drop intelligence down to 16 and bump the 2 extra points into strength, constitution or charisma as you prefer.

If you don't want the dragonmark feats for maximum ease while leveling your crafting skills then you could swap in construct essence, quicken and quickdraw perhaps though there are many options.
