    Default The "New" Festivult Cookies/Cakes

Logging in nao. Screenshots and such to come.

Edit : Okay, Logged in... looked at the cookies... I don't see any obvious changes? I'm going to compare them to the Wiki real quick to make sure, but I'm thinking maybe this didn't properly make it into the update?

Edit 2 : Compared to the Wiki. Exactly the same effects, and same caster levels on those effects, on all the same cookies - *zero* changes. I'm not going to bother posting screenshots of unchanged cookies.

    Funny joke, Turbine.

Did you actually eat them to see if the effect (if any) matched the description? We all know that what an item's description SAYS it does, and what the item ACTUALLY does, can be two very different things

Eat cookies like that for testing after Thanksgiving? Are you insane???? Think of the additional calories, man!

I ate the Abishai set to make sure the set bonus was the same - it was. I didn't check the rest. Descriptions are good enough for me.

Correct that the cookies have not (yet) changed. The changes were meant to be in today's update, but didn't make it.

...And the Release Notes will be changed to reflect this? Edit : See you already did. Fast work, like it.

...And the Release Notes will include that Challenge Ingredients are now BtA? -- Edit 2 : See this didn't happen though. Sad Panda.

How about just not messing with the cookies (and wasting the efforts of some number of players in collecting useful ones) at all this time around? Reclaim that time and work on a known issue or two that actually need to be addressed.

Seriously - of all the arbitrary changes that get made this one has to be among the most annoying. These aren't overpowered weapons or items that should have been flagged exclusive but weren't. They're just consumable items. If no one is solo'ing epic raids because of them, leave them be!

You don't have to be a Sad Panda. I ran a couple of challenges to test things. The ingredients are BtA per description on the ingredients. I tested and put some in my shared bank and it worked.

Yes they do change some cookies each year, and mostly to weaken them.

The first festivult after mod9 was released (mod9 = free to play) one of the cakes was changed from raise dead to something lame. I don't remember which cake it was (maybe Lamannia, the Twilight Forest Jelly Cake?).

Having a cake that could raise dead wasn't overpowered, but they would have taken away from sales of Siberys Spirit Cake's.

That was the Irian one iirc

Random aside, when i first started playing back on EU servers it was festivult & i pulled loads of the Arretrikos cookies, naturally at that point i'd never faced him in game so when I eventually got to shroud (after almost a year of playing) i couldnt help but think of him as "the cookie monster" & its just kinda stuck in my brain ever since.

Radiant forcefield cookies would be very nice.. personally i'm hoping the blue/red fireshield ones dont change though, theyre very handy
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

To be clear - NEW is GOOD. What I find annoying is arbitrary changes to existing inventory. So sure, throw in some new cookie set, great. Leave the old ones alone!

Last I checked, we have a Death Ward Cake. At least, unless that's one that gets changed.

More Cupcakes and Candy Canes please...

I never really cared for the ones that are Attack or Crowd Control Spells or summons. Always put these on the AH.

Buffs were ok, especially the ones that Stacked with existing buffs.

While that's true, I would not say last year's (Dec 2010) changes were "weaken". IIRC, compared to Dec 2009:

Aerratikos: from fireball to meteor swarm -- up
Velah: from fire shield to cometfall -- about equal
Queen Lailat: from blade barrier to burning blood -- somewhat down
Lamannia: from 100 hp regrowth to spike growth -- definitely down (let alone from original Raise Dead!)
Fernia: from scorching ray to fire shield -- up
Shavarath: from heroism to master's touch -- down if you can cast Master's Touch, about equal if you cannot
Stormreaver: from electric loop to call lightning storm -- way up
Syrania: from featherfall to CL 15 Jump -- equally worthless
Mabar: from enervation to phantasmal killer -- up
Thelanis: from good hope to prismatic spray -- way up

I think cupcakes were cure moderate wound in 2009 and heal light wound in 2010 -- if that's true, they went down.

Abishai cookies were added in 2010; the rest of cookies I think stayed the same.
