Will Custom Sig's ever be available?

As the title states :

Will we ever get the option to insert custom signature pics (size restricted) ?

If not .... why ? is it a security issue? webpage load from pulling sig's from host's ?

I'm quite content not having loud ugly sig banners cluttering up every thread. The character banners are enough.

With vbulletin there are 3 choices really, no sig, local only or anything goes (within specified limits).

They could offer us local only and allow us to upload an image or two. All that would require is allowing us up to Xkb of images to be uploaded. Of course the X is variable and all that's really required is 25-40kb. Sure this would require some extra storage, but it's pretty darn insignificant server cost wise.

Image sizes can still be enforced (width and height) to conform to their current banner size.

Yes , size enforcement would have to be in place. Could just allow an upload as MsErika said. Think it would be nicer than the cardboard cutout premade sigs.


450x190 is the default large size, so as long as we stayed with dimensions up to that amount.

This would be sized down a bit (currently 800x250), but something like this....

The biggest two things I know of that work against custom image signatures are inappropriate images and copyrights.

I don't think Droipamine wants to go through and have to manually approve each image a user wants for a sig.

If I were him, I would go back and edit the post to say, "No, and we can't say a particular three letter word that starts with a 'W,' ends in a 'Y,' and also has an 'H,' but the thing we are referring to which we cannot say is not this phrase beginning after the first instance of the word 'say' in this sentence."


Of course, that would REALLY confuse people just now finding the post from the dev tracker.
