Rest in Peace.
Great author, great books. Spent many an hour reading and re-reading the Pern
books as well as the ship who sang series and the killashrandra series

I knew she was elderly and wondered when I would see this day. I loved her Pern books. She has left a beautiful legacy.

Ya, that's too bad.
One of the first real novels I read (I would have been in the second grade or so) was one of the science fiction bookclub omnibus editions for the first three dragonriders of pern books. I basically sat on my upstairs neighbors couch for a month reading through all of her books, since my mom wouldn't let me take them down to our apartment.
She'll be missed.Osharan, Esharan, Osharina, Usharina, etc... I'm the 'sharans. Epoxy. Notverysexy.
