Default Level 16 Halfling Monk Help

I recently started playing ddo again, after a year break and have no idea what to do with my gimp level 16 halfling. Can somebody help me or point me out to a decent build so i can resurrect him into something useful? It doesn't matter what type of monk (str or dex based) i really am up to try new things.

    Well, there's always Rockan Robin.
Semi-retired Build Engineer. Everything was better back in our day. Get off my lawn.

Yep, yet you may want to give out your stats so that we can lead you into the direction you need

Lets just put it this way... he's currently in a "strength" build and his strength is 29 unbuffed, and his only buff is rage because i have no idea what else to do., his feats are ffed up, he's halfling so i don't think he can be dps, somebody can prove me wrong though go ahead that would be great. So i think my only option is to resurrect him into something.

ok so 29 with +6 gear or +4 and

if you have feat problems you can go to fred for the free feat exchange that can help

but 29 str is not that bad for a level 16

Str halfling monks can be pretty good dps. Especially for a first life monk, that +4 to hit can be really great. And 29 strength at level 16 on a halfling is good.

So that covers what we know. In order to help we should probably know at least your Con and Dex, and probably your Wis too.

How badly are the feats messed up? At 16 you should have something like

    Toughness
    Power Attack
    Dodge (if dom. monk)
Stunning Fist (optional if dom. monk, but recommended anyway)
Cleave/Luck of Heroes (if enlight. monk)
    TWF
    iTWF
    gTWF
    IC: Bludgeon
    One other feat

For enhancements make sure you max out your guile/cunning lines. Pick up ToD if your a dominion monk. At that level, just max one elemental line, whichever you use the most.

    Hope this helps,
    Tsuarok

    29 str = 15 base + 4 levels + 1 tome + 6 item + 3 stance
    23 dex = 16 base + 1 tome + 6 item
    22 con = 16 base + 1 tome + 5 item
    9 int = 8 base + 1 item
    11 wis = 11 base + 1 tome + 1 feat - 2 stance + (have a + 6 item but don't have a guild requirement.
    9 charisma = 8 base + 1 item

    Feats:
    Power Attack
    Twf
    iTwf
    gTwf
    cleave
    IC: Bludgeon
    Path of Inevitable Domination
    Stunning Fist
    Toughness

Why messed up? I was light path but switched to dark. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have a monk halfling built and leveled to 17. I made a wisdom based finesse light monk and it's working great so far at level 17 - my stuns almost always land - and my damage is decent - but my survivability is excellent with the healing curse, healing amp and vampiric wraps. My to-hit is also decent - i'd have to check what my starting stats were but if you're interested in more info just let me know!

You'll want to swap cleave for dodge so that you can qualify for Ninja Spy. This should increase both your survivability via fade and your damage via sneak attacks.

Next you need to increase the DC of your stunning fist. Join a guild and use the +6 wis item you have, and any guild buffs you have. Then find a set of handwraps of stunning +10. These measures should give you a stunning fist DC of 32-33, which is plenty good for those levels.

Stunning Fist then becomes your best friend. It stops incoming damage, increases your regular damage by 50%, and allows your fairly hefty 3d6+8 sneak attack to land.

On a final note, try to grind out a set of Vampiric Stonedust Handwraps (or buy a set on the AH if you can afford it). They have stunning +6 (usually good enough), a flesh to stone effect (which allows SA and +50% dmg), and lesser vampirism, healing you for 1 every hit. Extremely useful.
