Default Trinkets That Emit Auras And More

I figured I’d propose something that would add more content without spending a whole lot of time designing. This way the devs can focus on fixing bugs and also design something simple that will go a long way.

    Trinkets that give off auras:

Flametouched Iron Sun Pendant (Trinket) -- emits a bronze aura that harms evil outsiders (level 8)
+3 strength, disease immunity, diplomacy +5, heal +7

Cold Iron Moon Pendant (Trinket) -- emits a white aura that harms demons and certain outsiders (level 10)
+3 wisdom, +3 protection, greater nullification v, greater devotion v

Silver Nugget (Trinket) -- emits a silver aura that harms certain types of undead. Vampires, etc. (level 14)
    +3 charisma, +2 strength, concentration +5, spell resistance 17,

Garlic Bud (Trinket) -- emits a crimson aura that paralyzes undead (level 16)
+5 strength, deathblock, negative energy absorption, spell resistance 15

    Added 3 more:

Adamantine Star Pendant (Trinket) -- emits a grey aura that harms constructs. (level 12)
+3 Intelligence, Repair Lore, Repair +5, Power V

Music Box (Trinket) -- emits a light blue aura that deals sonic damage. (level 8)
    +3 Charisma, +2 Dexterity, Perform +5, Heal +5

Shriveled Beholder Eye (Trinket) -- emits a light grey aura that turns any living creature to stone. (level 14)
+3 Intelligence, Wizardry III, Spell Resistance 15, Jump +5

I'm open for any suggestions. Thanks!

    Smile Brilliant idea, but...

The idea of trinkets that give off an aura is great, I really like it and would dive head first into content that incorporated it (being a caster and all ).

My thought on the whole lawful good only thing (and some of their abilities) give a bit too much love to the pallys, and i feel would encourage battle clerics a little too much (bring on the hate, i know that might get people's panties in a knot).

However, specializing a trinket to each class I would 100% support, as long as they werent clearly over powered, and maybe had a minor draw-back relating to that class. I could see this being a new quest chain though, imbuing a trinket with an aura ability suiting to your class.

+1 OP, this is an unexplored realm opened by your creativity.

intriguing idea. the whole aura thing could be a good thing for all classes.

I would note that clerics are not constrained by alignment. I see no reason to have the trinkets be alignment restricted to lawful good.

Aura items are actually a good idea.

Precedence exist in PnP, usually in the martial combat books.
e.g. the magical banners that give bonuses to soldiers or warriors around it.

Now making them continual spells and also be usable items, together might be overpowered.
But for something that would be like quaffing a potion when the battle has merit, then yeah, should be fun and worthy.

Well what I had in mind was that someone mentioned that clerics need more love so that more people will play them. However, I would have no problem expanding this to other classes. I agree with your thought on pallys and battle clerics, this should be open to any alignment. Actually I thought about the possibility of adding a new quest chain for these but figured I would be asking for too much, lol. But I would definately be open to having these available in a quest chain to imbue with an alter. Maybe getting a rare in-quest trinket and imbuing it with a gem of some sort that would allow the player to use the aura. There could be various gems and each gem can give off a different aura.

Very true, not everyone plays a lawful good cleric, so I agree with removing the alignment restriction.

Yeah I see where you're getting at. Perhaps I can remove the spells from each item so then the auras could be used as spells. Like the cold Iron moon pendant would have 5 aura shots which last 7 min each. And etc.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and feel free to add anything else! I'll edit the original post and add the changes.
