Tenser's Transformation

I know the idea of revamping Tenser's has been brought up here before, but I wanted to bring it to attention again. As it stands right now, this is the worst spell in the game. I mean, at 11 wizard/12 sorcerer levels, you aren't just a splash anymore. That's your main class. And this is a spell to allow you to be a worse melee fighter than any other melee class at the expense of your spellcasting. What's the point?

As was suggested before, simply remove the ban on spellcasting and replace it with a penalty. Just add an SP cost to all spells you cast (I think 10 extra SP per spell is fair--same cost as Quicken; even a 20 SP boost to all spell costs could be stomached). Suddenly, this will go from a spell that never gets picked to a spell that a fair number of builds revolve around. I know that I would 100% for certain make a melee sorc given that change to this spell.

Bladesworn Transformation

Along the same lines, this has to be the WORST enhancement on the cleric's/favored soul's/paladin's list. Why? First, clerics and fvs. For the cost of 4-6 AP (depending on which divine caster), you get a once every 10 minute clicky of +7 attack (str boost, BAB boost), +6 damage (str boost, damage boost), +10 to Will vs. mind-affecting stuff, and all simple/martial weapon profs that lasts for just under two and a half minutes at cap (excluding immunity to SA and Crits, because by level 5, certainly by level 7, most warforged are easily able to obtain a moderate fort item, giving them 100% fort). That actually sounds reasonably good. Oh wait, you can't cast spells while under the effect, nor can you be healed. Wow. Again, we're talking about a spellcasting class that's willing to become a subpar melee in exchange for the entire purpose of the class. And the worst part? The best part of this ability (the full BAB) is obtained in a 4th level divine spell that has no drawbacks! Also, what melee cleric/fvs would want to lose the ability to self-heal and require an arcane caster, which are not meant to be healers, to play nany-bot? It's beyond awful.

Then look at it for Paladin. They don't benefit from the the BAB boost, nor from the weapon profs. They just get the str boost, the damage boost, and the will save. Them losing spellcasting isn't a big deal, but them losing access to divine healing is. Especially when you consider that Defender of Siberys has quickly become the most popular Pally PrE. A tank that can't be healed by your normal healers? What's the point? All for a meager combat boost that only lasts 2.5 minutes every 10 minutes?

The fix for this is actually pretty simple. Get rid of the casting restriction and the healing immunity. Just get rid of them. Maybe, from some kind of RP perspective, they could make some sense, but they are terrible game design. And you don't even need to put a SP boost to spells cast (like suggested for Tenser's), as these are divine casters, and have access to divine power anyways. Basically, for those divine casters that like to melee, this would replace the first casting of divine power, and then every 4th divine power thereafter. That would at least not be a total waste of the AP. Pally still gets the short end of the stick with this one, as it's just a meager combat boost that can be up 1/4 of the time. But again, it's at least useful then, even if for a small amount of time, rather than a waste of 4 AP.

Both are simple fixes to otherwise awful spells/enhancements to make them viable for use. Please consider them.
