Default does drow resistance stack with ranger resistance

i am hoping they do, because i would make a really squishy ranger and call it the shaman killer. since im normally high DPS with high saves i take them out to help the party.

i would add in some rogue too. make me a super trap monkey. for those traps that you have to get to the other side to disable .

Do you mean the Drow Spell Resistance and Ranger <insert name here> lore?
    Both are different things.

Spell Resistance is applied to non damaging spells like Command, Greater Command.

The Ranger Desert, Tundra and Swamp lore can give to you 6 elemental resistance against the correspondent element, and it stacks with Resist Energy spell.

oh, hmmmm, thats a good point. i am the biggest n00b when it comes to anything magic in this game. im twf high dps all the way.

so the spell resistance from drow. and the elemental damage resistance from ranger. could i spend all of my AP on making me resistant to spells?

ive always known rangers can cast spells. and do weird stuff like that. i have just never done it.

SR applies to things like holds, charms, and insta kill spells like fods and Pk etc... be a first dice check before rolling a save. SR gets checked then Save get checked.

Ranger resist enhancement lines deal with elements such as fire, acid, cold and electric... like acid cloud or a fireball....

Be quite honest too I never known many to bother with the ranger line for added elemental resist... Usually viewed as a waste and I'll tell you why.

    1. First rangers are most likely have evassion ... nine level you get that automatically or if splashed with two levels of monk or rogue. Basically means make the save (which most have the save) and they take no damage from things like fireball.
    2. Rangers get resist spells - full blown is resist 30, Plus protection spells at higher level suck up these damages too ...
    3. PrE's are tight and AP into better things like racials damages or hp and other class enhancements Dex and DPS for favoured enemies and so forth have more priority. rangers generally NEED to add substantial DPS via enhancements due other classes damage enhancements are much better...
    4. Elemental absortion items ... Why spend AP when you may swap in items on the fly to sop up damages?

... basically saying these lines be more a back-burner thing like in leveling, come end game you're almost 99,9% of the time better off using the AP elsewheres.

You are missing out on a great benefit of the Ranger class. They can drop 150-200 hp blue bar heals on themselves with the right feat and spell and a little amp taken.
