There's no single word that can describe Skyrim. I've never been so sucked into a games world, and for so many many years I've been wanting a game just like Skyrim, where it's NOT just a 'kill this, loot that' game. Morrowwind and Oblivion one it right to an extent, but Skyrim...just wow! It blows everything out of the water and redefines what a good....great game should be.

Talk about value for money, I've clocked 31 hours into it already and I've only just started exploring the outer edges of Whiterun Hold, killed 2 dragons total and let me tell you, both of those kills have given be a huge sense of accomplishment.

Nothing comes close to what Bethesda have done with Skyrim IMO. Even with the few glitches and CTDs, still GOTY for me...maybe even game of the decade.

    Half my guild maybe?

The shorts I saw looked scary. I didn't like Oblivion all that much... I might get it though just because I like the concept...

Minecraft > Skyrim. In more ways than one.

It all could have been settled over a simple game of quake. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when Bethesda absolutely refuses to negotiate at all.

I can't wait for minecraft to go to 1.0. I need to find me a dragon to slay!

Wife has logged about 20 hours now this weekend and I've gotten in almost 10. We've practically been sleeping in shifts to play .

If you have the TV that can support the high def graphics, the game looks amazing and Turibne could learn a thing or two about how to make Dragon fights interesting.

I loved Oblivion, but this is a much better game.

DDO is using an OLD game engine... Skyrim is very very new with the goal of actually making a decent game.

I have been playing for a few hours now. The backdrops are definitely next gen. The eye candy is best in class.

However, it somehow feels extremely boxed in and limited in movement, as well as combat.

It has the making for a classic RPG, with modern day graphics animation and sound. But going solo vs team play is the call.

Its a different genre that DDO. As great as this game is, and its a great RPG... its not nearly enough to replace the people and times I've had in DDO.

My solution? I own both, will play DDO mainly. When I want a swap, in comes Skrim.

Yea, I'll jump on new content as soon as it comes out, but lets be honest, if we played this game for the content alone, I think we would have been gone long ago.

exactly its the closest I can come right now to a good old game session right now, we occasionaly get together as a group but cant most of the time. But if it was just for content I would have quit 5 years ago

Been looking forward to Skyrim for some time now. I am amazed at the graphics + content. I think my roommate and I maybe got 10-12 hours of sleep all weekend as a "break" from the game.

Going to try and keep my toons on DDO current, but I cannot make any promises!

Your solution at the bottom is how it will go with me. I already miss the communication with others.

But for now the newness of Skyrim is running hot. I do tend to have the attention span of a chipmonk anyway, so..."Hey! New shiny!!"

I'll be juggling both great games soon enough....

Skyrim won't ever replace DDO. As good as Skyrim is, it does have a shelf life and eventaully the game does end. But DDO will still be here (still trying to "balance" the challenges)

Skyrim is pretty amazing. Bethsoft really amped up the level of detail and gameplay for the TES series.

It'll be a long while before I come back to DDO/LotRO. With SWTOR just around the corner too, maybe a very, very long while.

Good time of year to be a gamer.
