Default shroud drop rates in sarlona

hi all, i just finished my 13th shroud and still havent seen a large devil scale is this normal to go this long without seeing one or am i just being unlucky? i seem to get large arrows, chains and bones and nothing else is this normal? as in do these 3 have a higher drop rate than large shraps, stones and scales? is there a percentile drop rate to each large or is it just random? sry for all the questions but im still trying to get my first piece of greensteel and trying to work out how long it will take me. at the moment having only one toon at cap this could be a while from my limited sample size. thx for reading...

The six main ingredients are each 8% in part 4 and 16% in part 5. Horns make up the remaining 2/4% for a total of 50% (part 4) and 100% (part 5 normal). New chests in part 5 h/e are copies of the other ones.

sirgog thankyou very much for clearing that up for me, fixed rates for drops is encouraging, this means i should pick up what i want. my sample size being while only small means ive been a touch unlucky. heres hoping for better in the future and again thankyou.

    Default a strategy...

One thing I did is cap 3 characters. I carefully built them and didn't rush it so they're all great builds.

Then I run all 3 through shroud 2x a week.

You'll find that your drop rate is much improved :-) Overall outfitting all of them in full greensteel will still take the same amount of time, however fully outfitting just one goes a lot faster. You can then use him to start farming epics and keep on running shroud with all three until you've got all the greensteel you want done.

Casters and divines are in huge demand for running raids/epics so build something you love, then build 2 casters/divines for your farming, or just one, whatever you want. It's just that shroud groups fill their melee slots _really_ fast.

I have roughly half the greensteel I need for all 3. One char has min ii/earthgrab/lit ii khopeshs done and is finishing a min II helmet. My tank has lit ii's and a min ii helmet done along with an epic item. My wizard has his sp goggles done but also has epic gear. I have to finish the min ii helmet and build some DR breakers for my tank and I'm done with greensteel.

If I had to guess at that rate it takes around 2 months per item to get the ingredients give or take. Occasionally I make a trade with someone to get something I need. Sirgog knows the drop chances, he's an expert. In practical terms that's what those numbers mean to me personally running a shroud train with 3 characters.

hermespan thankyou for your post and funny enough i have come to the same conclusion about getting more characters to cap or shroud level to help with my greensteel crafting. at the moment im leveling another tempest(i can sort of play these ) fast(well for me), will roll up some casters in the future but im waiting till after christmas(wife getting me vip for the year) so i can build 32pt characters instead of 28, and also gives me time reading and learning about bards and clerics as these are the other characters i would like to roll. the idea of a two weapon swinging bard while crowd controling the on coming mobs sounds like fun (hope this isnt just a romantic notion for a 32pt build but if it means tr'ing to get then so be it.) on a side note i finaly got my first lds yesterday wahoooo life is good lol.
