    Default Find Traps spell

So just saw a loading screen that said "Only rogues, artificers and characters affected by the cleric spell Find Traps can search a trap with a DC higher than 20".

I always assumed that the spell only boosted your search rather than giving you an entire class ability.

Could a pure cleric be a trap monkey on the back of this spell? (Cross class skill points notwithstanding).

They could find the trap but not disable it. You need at least 1 level of rogue or artificer to put skill points in disable device.

even with find traps, i doubt they'd have much luck finding the later ones without very specifically building for it.

Unless of course some form of the trickery domain actually got implemented... because trickery domain on a cleric actually helps with that in the actual P&P version.

    My 17 cleric / 2 monk / 1 rogue had a 12 starting Int, 14 with a tome.
I put half as many points into Search as I did for DD, and that spell filled the hole, so he could handle any trap I came across.
