Default Lest we forget... Thank you Veterans. 11/11/11

Another year has passed... And again; Here I am.

I humbly ask that for you to please... Take a moment today at 11:00am to pause to
honor those who fight so the we may be free today.

I know that in the hustle and bustle of our lives sometimes things get overlooked...

Our car keys... our Coffee cup... (lord knows I have lost a number of these...)
    hats, gloves, shirts... Pants...?

But among them all, the one thing that should never be forgotten, are our veterans...

Those that fight, so that we do not have to...

So today as you strive to care for the home, work to make a living,
or just enjoy the game we love, I ask that you please, take time
to remember those that cannot do those things, things like...
Sleep in a warm bed... have a home cooked meal... play ball with their son or daughter.
Sit with their 8 year old girl for a make believe tea party...
because they have chosen to sacricfice these simple wonderful joys of life,
    so that we can.

They give freely of themselves out of a selfless devotion...
sacrifice their time, the simple pleaseures and comforts of life, their innocence
    and sometimes, even their lives...

They honor us with the gift of freedom, sometimes at a cost they we can never repay.
So today I ask that you please, take the time to say thank you to the veterans.

So in closing I would like to say.

Thank you to All of the Veterans.

    I salute you.

    Bekki.

And please remember that armistice day is about remembering the fallen of all nations, in all of humanity's terrible and pointless wars - not just soldiers of your own nation.

I thank those willing to fight for their countries and even more, I wish they didn't have to.

    Well said...

Let be ever mindful that in spite of our differences that
there are veterans on BOTH sides of the battlefield...

As a current Army SSG with two tours to Iraq, I thank you for your support.

I would like to add that I am a recruiter and I am so impressed with the people who have signed up for military service since 9/11. Serving your country in a time of war takes a lot of dedication and the highest form of bravery. I can imagine what is was like during Vietnam and World War I/II but to sign up during a time where we are fighting two wars is not easy.

Thanks to all that have served and my brothers/sisters who are serving currently, words cannot express my gratitude.

    Godspeed!!

Honour, respect, and admiration to those who serve well. /bow
Once upon a time, I was part of a team, and we saved some children. That was long ago and far away, and, yes, I am that old.

And Thank you for your Service.

I don't suppose the Army would consider a 44 year old Retread Marine with 7 years till retirement would they? *Evil Grin...

(Service Limits in the Marines forced me out due to my broken time...)

Would like to... finish the job.
