Challenges crushed. Gold star'd a few and 150+ cannith favor

Betting im the first on this.. It's incredibly hard, and annoying as some of the challenges are just plain frusterating to attempt to 5star.. Im confident a few are actually 100% straight impossible. It's pretty clear they didnt test some of the variations to be actually doable. Disruptor, Shortcuts and Collosal crystals in particular, Short cuts im quite sure is straight impossible to 5 star even on the lowes setting, even with godmode characters.. Other 2 would be insanely hard but potentially, with a lot of luck.

I mean all the base one seems quite balanced and beatable with 5star, usually even at max cr.. But the variations like drop the time limits by a ton, then add mobs with 200,000hp and crazy rules that are impossible heh.

Anyways heres my scores - try to beat em =)


PS: Gold star = all 5 stars and ran it on maximum possible CR.. AKA: Crushed.

Favors - my older non tr actaully has more, but ran my stronger tr bbn on these.. Actauly woulda been a ton easier on caster, but eh bbns are great at rushmoor, not so great at the other 3.:


Oh yea and after all of this work.. I still dont have enough ingrds for a single epic item.. They went hardcore on nerfing the reward rates since i ran this on lam.

EG:
Lammania disruptor, very good run: 4000 necrotic charms.. (cost for wep is 600)
Live.. same score: 40 necrotic charms.. nerf'd by 99% lol.
Most others are nerfed by 75%-90%.. They really dont get the idea of baby steps or moderation.. I mean a cpl on lam were too high and coulda used a -25% drop, but most were actaully fine.. Go big or go home! hah.

I was hoping for more then just the boring arti unlock for such an effort.. Like maybe some higher +crafting xp potions..

But no, the mails u get and dialog just says you unlocked artificer.

If it actaully worked or not:
Well im not vip and I did not purchase artificers..

However im also over my character slot limit, so i cant try to create one. Guess i can try to multi one of my tr's with one to test later.

I haven't even managed to 5 star Behind the Door yet. Can't imagine how difficult some of the others are.

Odd about the Dragon's Hoard stars not turning gold.

Totally agree about Colossal Crystals. I would be stunned to see anyone 5 star it.

My group got 5 stars (and 6 star exp bonus on the exp report somehow) for the lava caves kobold one (lvl 15 max). We didn't get gold stars though even though we played it at max level (lvl 15).

Could it be because we were lvl 17? Or is there something else I'm missing for gold stars?

Also, what else do you get for gold star-ing a challenge? The description I vaguely remember reading seemed to imply that later runs of this challenge would then grant extra exp, or is it just a bonus for that one run? How big a bonus?

Congrats btw on a solid effort, it'll be a while longer before I can make a solid attempt at all of them restricted by not-WAI amount of daily tokens.

I have to assume that the 5 star levels on some of those will only likely be feasible (barring severe dumbass luck) with groups and moderate luck at getting all the rares to show in circumstances that work. Like the Djinn in Kobold Chaos for example.

Presume you were solo and that you just used normal stuff and no store crutches.

zero points. I don't believe anyone in my party puchased anything related on the ddo store either. They are unneccesary in all cases imo.

Well maybe the xtra min to 5 star some of the crazy hard ones will be helpful, otherwise they are fluff.

And while i do personally disdain the whole pay-to-win thing they keep moving towards.. I have no issue paying for content.

So I paid the 1500 points for the pack, and even bought some tokesn to hand out ot freinds to let them come along.. They just work like a cheaper version of guestpasses far as im concerned.

And while i do think 1500 poitns is a bit too expensive for this pack relative to the rest. I dunno, I regularly spend a lot more then 15 bucks for 2 hours of entertainment at a movie, and these provided a bit more then that.

We didn't run dragons hoard on the maximum CR. Well actaully we did after that 5star run on low lvl.. And a red named marilith spawned and murdered half our kobolds and half our party lol.. Shes pretty mean on 20.

Not a big fan of the crystal cove ones, so i might retry it sometime, im sure its doable on CR20.. Just not soon.. gona focus on items next.

I find you have to re-cick the entry sign after completion for the stars to turn gold. Did you try that?

Thinking your refering to circles of power.. We only 4 star'd that so not sure if its bugged or not.. Im sure some of them are still quite buggy and impossible to gold star as ive mentioned.

Acording to a pm from madfloyd:
5 staring a challenge on maximum CR is equivalent to 6 stars:
EG: You get whatever 5star XP bonus gave you over again (I think like +125%?)
and +1 more favor too, so 6 favor. If your thing shows 6 favor, its working.. Just the gold display is bugged. No further bonus other then the xp and favor.

Not really, there is indeed luck invovled in these, but not as much as you might think.

The Djinnis spawn en-mass in huge numbers after you hit a certain amount of shards - i think somewhere in the 3000 range.. There not too random, we killed like 5 of them.

The named in the cove types are a bit random.

And the power points in collosoal crystals are a major problem of randomness. If theres no one close to a progenator, you basically have zero chance at geting all 3.. And infact I think jsut getting more then 1 is extremely hard if not impossible due to this randomness.
