Enjoy the game over-all and don't think its broken, but if some of this stuff doesn't get fixed soon, problems may get worse as more is added on top of existing bugs. So,

I think there's something folks are missing - things will get broken, AGAIN. And repeatedly.
Even if all the bugs in the game is fixed, there is no guarantee that it won't be broken in future updates. This is due to the large scale of the game and how everything is connected to something else, or the "butterfly effect".
Just like the armour colour bug this time. It doesn't seem to be related to any of the game mechanics, but it got broken.
If the Devs somehow managed to fix all the bugs in the game, Hurrah! for 3 months before the next update roll in and things get broken again. And in that time, that's 6 months without any new content.
I think this is where the rub is. Devoting an entire update to fixing bugs is not really cost-effective as things will get broken again. A cost-effective way would be to balance new content and bug fixing (as the new content is the one bringing in the cash). And the bug fixing to take on any serious-game crashing bugs.

There are some bugs that just need to be addressed, even if they gloss over a few of the other minor bugs, I wouldn't mind it so much, but spending time changing the icons of ingredients rather than where kobolds can and can't leap back to (Kasquik in Shroud managed to leap backwards into a wall and was untouchable) or nerfing certain raid drops so you can upgrade it to a slightly different flavored item instead of fixing ladder and other stuck spots, buggy teleports and the like just doesn't sit well with me, I want something worthwhile to be done about the major bugs
I want an update where they don't release major changes like quests and new zones and junk, I wouldn't mind *thoroughly tested and relatively not bugged* enhancements/Prestige enhancements and such, but just work on the freaking bugs that *EVERYONE* in the game has been complaining about for *YEARS*
Also, lag, can't tell how many times I've seen a "potion of remove lag" or a "wand of lag resistance" spoofed into chat, especially during and after events, it gets to the point the game is almost unplayable at times...
Good posts all , thx for contributing.
Again this is not about get every last bug that's out there fixed right now.
This is about looking at all the updates/patches/new content in the last 3 yrs, and it's been alot.
So just looking at the time and effort it took to CREATE all this new stuff.
It would be safe to say that lets skip a New Content update and let the devs take that same effort and time they put into these updates to fine tune and fix things that are in limbo.
Lets sweep the bugs out from under the rug, lets clean the house up before adding on another wing :>)
Wether it happens or not.... the point is to let them know they have given us TON's of stuff to do in game at the moment..... so lets work on this before another content release. Get DDO polished up some more.
thx

The old bugs and unfinished content is driving me out almost as much as the trend for appeasing the super-elitist top 1%. Stop breaking more stuff with new and unbalanced content. Please go back and fix all the broken and partial content. And PLEASE stop making it near impossible for casual players (like most of us who have a JOB to PAY for this game) to compete or even play with the no-life elitists!

This argument is roughly akin to saying "I won't shower today, because I'll just need another one tomorrow". After a few weeks of that "logic", the cumulative affect of that approach would be noticable.
Turbine has taken that appproach with this game for too long, and the cumulative affect is noticable.
Without attention to quality, software doesn't degrade until it reaches some stable point. Instead, the rate of growth in instability tends to rapidly increase until the entire system crashes. The recent increase in lag, for example, is likely a symptom of the game software teetering on the brink.
In a well managed software development environment, new content is created, the vast majority of the bugs are removed, the software is released to the users, and the cycle is repeated.
Its clear that Turbine has been skipping the "vast majority of the bugs are removed" part of the cycle recently.
If you can handle the smell, you can skip showering for a few weeks, then jump into the shower and in one shot erase your weeks of slacking. Software engineering is not that forgiving. Cleaning up the mess that has accrued from skimping on bug removal for too long is going to be painful, but its a price that is going to have to be paid, likely sooner rather than later.
When I want a company to do something, I try to think like it's me who's actually working on it.
And, personally, I see that new content is still needed to keep some new feel coming to the game, and obviously, income. And not cause you're greedy... but to keep everyone able to provide for their families and avoid cut-backs. Besides, it is much more interesting for developers and whole team to be working on new content that fixing old bugs. It is pretty **** depressing to be fixing up bugs all the time...
Now, it is equally important to keep bugs patched up, so I would personally try to divide it as in: one week a month we work exclusively on bugs. But then again, maybe they do already use that tactic. Shake up the daily work in office a bit.

Sign me up, but I would also like to see new content as well.

I cannot sign onto fixing the bugs enough times apparently. How many years is the known issues list going to grow, age, and ferment before it blows it's own cork? Fixes before breaks, that should be top of the list, maybe it is time to get a new mod put out to address the bugs. Please.

Your attempt to "analogise" my point is inaccurate I never said they should stop fixing bugs, just that devoting entire updates or inordinate amount of time is not cost-effective. I said it's a balance between both. Please avoid selective reading.
Drawing upon your analogy, what I'm saying is you don't need to spend 1 hour in the shower, because you're gonna get dirty anyway. You can probably spend 10 minutes or longer (if you're really dirty), but your time is probably worth spent doing something else (like playing DDO).A cost-effective way would be to balance new content and bug fixing (as the new content is the one bringing in the cash). And the bug fixing to take on any serious-game crashing bugs.![]()

Stop fixing things that didnt need touched.. (shroud normal) and get busy fixing some of the HUGE known issues list.. a list that is far from even complete. i'm sure everyone here could name yet another bug that isn't in the known issues list and has existed for at least a year.
Actually... Honestly... Ya know what? With the last 2 updates here.. i don't care anymore. Bad game management and or the devs being run by the marketing department. Plus jack for testing anything at all. idk.. Doesnt matter. I'll likely be jumping ship to some other game right quick here. 11/11/11 sounds good. So do whatever you want. You don't listen to players that much anyway.
/ignored petition is a waste of time. go buy some more TP.
The game needs a LOT more content in the high level game(16+), and for anyone who plays at the high level game knows it. Go to the adventure compendium, and count the number of level 1 quests, then level 2 quests, then level 3, etc. You will notice that the number of quests per level seriously drops off after you hit level 12. There has been a lot of work to cater to the Free to Play crowd in terms of content in that low to mid level range, but what we really NEED in the game are more level 16-20 quests.
Now, content creation usually involves a different skill set than adding new features or bug fixes or anything like that. If the new content does not require new code(new game mechanics and such), that would keep it so one would not significantly affect the work of the other.
I am all for new features and bug fixes, but asking for one thing over the other just doesn't work and ignores the needs of many players.

finish the outstanding start, fix the bugs; THEN expand.
And please no more "improvements" _noone_ asked for (shared bank resize bork, I am looking at you).
And I say more:
Priorities:
#1 - Make all the way till tier 3 of the unfinnished prestiges;
#2 - Give the classes that have just one prestige, at least another one;
#3 - Give each race at least one complete prestige line;
#4 - Finnish all the unavailable prestiges.
In parallel, read the known issues list (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=150534) and try to fix the ones that hurts us the most, and then the oldest ones.
