Questions about crafting a runearm

Hi

I just acquired a runearm in the waterworks, which is great.
The runearm does give 1d4 extra firedamage to my equipped weapon besides other stuff.
Also I can see that my runearm is Craftable(+2), so I guess I can craft something with it.

I am quite new to crafting, since I prefer going on adventures, and would like some advice.

What does craftable(+2) mean? Can I put a shard on it with maximum +2, can I put 2 +1 shards on it?
Do I need anything else besides shards to craft on it?

Also what is the best shard to put on my runearm??
I thought that perhaps something that give my equipped weapons extra damage like the 1d4 fire thing, but if I craft something like that does my equipped weapon inherit that ability??

Go to the crafting hall in House C or House K, stick your rune arm in the bound items crafting station and look at the recipes. If you click on a recipe and look at the "result" icon it will tell you how much the + is for the shard and how much it will raise the minimum level on your rune arm.

You can put a prefix and/or a suffix shard in it that sum to a +2 bonus, which is quite small.

Also what is the best shard to put on my runearm??

Probably superior potency. Superior potency III is +2 and raises the minimum level by 4. You will need bound shards as your rune arms is bound.

What do you mean by bound shard?? Can't I buy a shard from auctions and then bind the shard to my runearm??

Also, Superior potency does not augment my abilities with my bow or my defense so I guess I would like something that makes my repeating crossbow damage more
