Default Give WF FvS Lord of Blades repair spells

Warforged , Lord of Blades are followers of the Lord of Blades.
Why then, in all his glory did he not bestow the ability to repair?
Made in his image and all that ....... lets be honest about it.

You create a battle hardened Warforged warrior with the abilty to heal .... dare I say it.... fleshies.

It is time WF Fvs Lord of Blades and their paladin Lord of Blades kin got repair spells.
In keeping with the story and background of the LoB.

    /not signed for two reasons:
    1. They really don't need any more help as it is :P
    2. The class by itself has no reason for knowing the spell.

Now, maybe as a CLERIC domain... but not so much for an FvS

warforged casters/divine are already so overpowered as it is.

i would rather see they nerf the repair spell to even the playing field.

Why would I want a gigantic nerf to my FVS? What makes him great is that he is a mediocre melee that can DP bosses and heal the party. His self healing is more than adequate. At lower levels when his healing wasn't great, he could drink repair pots. Replacing healing spells with repair spells would make him gimp in almost all parties. If repair was added in parallel to healing, I'd still take healing since it works on all characters.

you don't need repair, you have cure, you're a divine, not an arcane.

use your healing spells, and enhance their capabilities.

if any class should be granted the repair spell, it should be the bard, since they are the equivocal jack o' all trades and cast some arcane and some divine spells.

The lord of blades and his close followers reside in the mournland. Natural healing and spells of the healing subschool do not function in the mournland. This is directly from the sourcebooks.

So from a lore standpoint, it makes sense for the god of the mournlands to offer his divine followers some way to repair themselves and other constructs, to stay alive on their home terf.

In DDO, gods have granted some of the favoured souls that follow them at-will abilities from the arcane spell list. For LOB followers, it is shield, which makes no sense from a lore standpoint and is terrible from a design/utility standpoint, i.e. why have an at-will on a 6 second cooldown that you can only target on yourself and cast once every 20 minutes.

I talked about this in detail over a year ago, here:

I can agree with you on the shield point, but also remember, even if you're a LoB follower, player characters reside in stormreach, not in the mournland.

Also, I don't think a repair spell should be added in place of shield for the at-will LoB ability. The question then would be, which repair spell? Repair light, moderate, reconstruct? Also, those spells aren't all that great (with the exception of perhaps reconstruct, although, I'd take them over shield...lol) unless you amp them up with items / enhancement points. Even reconstruct will only heal you for a max of 150 unless amp'd (or if you have a critical chance, can heal for much more as well).

I just don't see the point in letting a WF FvS cast repair, as a spell, or as an ability.

    Well there is a point:

It is at-will, which means you keep it even if you lose your spellcasting ability. i.e. the last time I played, the sovereign host healing word ability could be used while under the effects of bees of xoriat (a debuff which prevents spell casting).

So unless that has been patched, an at-will repair light (or moderate to account for lack of repair amp enhancements and the lack of a feat comparable to empower healing (which is freely applied to the healing word at-will), or even reconstruct but on a longer cooldown) should work while a LoB follower is using Bladesworn Transformation (an ability that is currently underutilized).

Well Vhlad, you make a great point.

I would be on board with repair for a WF FvS as an ability, but not as a spell, to go with Bladesworn Transformation, as I agree, it is very underused and is an awesome ability.

I do think, however, it would be better as the at-will ability, not as a spell choice.

    WF LoB FvS are gimp.
Your better off playing an Artificer.
LoB melee damage is gimp, blade barriers gimp, just plane old gimp.
Wow an aura -2 to enemy saves.... yawn

Go into Cannith Manufactury and tell me you do not want a repair spell.

A Warforge only class, that is a healer without a repair ( they are WF ffs !!! )

The LoB special capstone and Bladesworn Transformation are utterly useless, hey cool give me a boost to the gimp dps but take my casting away for 3 minutes = are you kidding me /fail
