Thumbs up WF FvS Lord of Blades : easy end game gear list

Below is a very easy to obtain list of gear that will set up eager Warforged Lord of Blade Favored Souls.

    Mainly from two quest areas.
One being Mindsunder in the Inspired Quarters.
Another being the House Cannith Manufactury quests.

The good thing about this gear is that you end up with 3 Cannith buffs from the sets : Fabricator's, Magewright's and Alchemist sets, all excellent and work very well for the melee Favored Soul.

Remember to finish these items in the crafter machines inside Cannith Manufactury for the full effect.

Head slot : Alchemist's Crown - ( Cannith rare chest ): Wisdom +6: Superior Devotion VI Increases the effectiveness of wearer's Positive (Healing) spells of 6th level and lower by 50%. Superior Radiance VI: Increases the effectiveness of wearer's Light spells of 6th level and lower by 50%.

Neck slot : Alchemist's Pendant - Necklace: ( Cannith - Blown to bits quest ) Constitution +6, Alchemical Conservation, Greater Elemental Energy +20 hp

    Eyes slot :
Magewright's Spectacles - ( Cannith rare chest ): Intelligence +6: Your 9th level spells and spells lower than 9th level gain a +2 bonus to the die roll to penetrate the target's Spell resistance., Concentration +10

Cloak slot : Magewright's Cloak - ( Cannith Power play quest): Charisma +6, Stealth Strike, Perform +10, Enhanced Perform +5

Armor slot : Quorforged Docent of Battle - ( Mind Sunder quest ) Superior False Life, Toughness, Constitution +6, Reinforced armor + 2, Will save -2

Bracers slot : Fabricator's Bracers - ( Cannith Blown to Bits quest ): Cannith Combat Infusion, Incite +20%, Balance +10, Enhanced Balance +5 , +25% stacking fortification.

    Gloves slot : Fabricator's Gauntlets - ( Cannith rare chest ) : Strength +6: , Resistance Save +5, Melee Alacrity 10%

Belt slot : What ever you want, suggested Amrath belt for spell points like Archmage. Easy to obtain, does not require ToD raid.

Boot slot : Cannith Boots of Propulsion 30% Striding, Feather fall, Jump + 10, Enhanced jump +5 ( Cannith : Schemes of the Enemy quest )

Ring slots : Dex +6 or what ever you prefer

Weapon : Terror Great sword ( Mind Sunder quest ) An easy to obtain sword with an insta kill proc. Lots of fun, add to your list of swords carried.

Trinket slot : Head of good fortune ( StormReaver's quest in Gianthold ) +2 to saves stacks with all others, and moderate fortification ( heavy fortification in U12 )

This basic list of gear will allow you to run many raids and epic 6 man groups without any problems.
This list of gear is a good place to start and will make farming for Epic items easier.

I was trying out Terror right after i managed to reach 20 in amrath on my melee fvs, didnt seem to work well. is this because of the saves buff?

Its not for Amrath, the Amrath plane I would not think those mobs can die from a nightmare ... ie PK, it is after all a Demon home plane, bit like banish does not work either.

When I ran the Amrath quests, as soon as it showed the mobs not making saves against the hits, I switched weapons.

Try running Epics with it like Bargain of Blood, The Tide Turns etc etc , it is great fun.
FvS get the aura of -2 to saves. You will do much better with it than anyone else and also others who use it will love your aura in group.
The sword seems to work great for me. Try it out inside Cannith Manufactury quests ( Paladins will save 99% of the time though )

I just ran an Epic Bargain of Blood and Tides with 3 Terror users, it was great fun. We still got skunked at the end but hey, DDO @ Lvl 20 is all about terrible end loots and skunk runs right?

    Terror is awful.

Sure it can be fun at first because of it's unique qualities but I took it through the vale and did some other testing with it on my fighter life and haven't taken it out of the bank since.

As for the rest of the list I don't think it's fair that you put the all important moderate fortification on a raid item that could take months to farm. 1st I've never done a reaver's fate where there weren't at least 6 people rolling on head of good fortune. 2nd it's drop rate is pretty low and 3rd you have to wait 3 days between runs. Still you've left the belt spot ~open so they could just get a moderate-heavy fortification belt. Although.....

I'm really more in the minos legens camp (extra fort is good as there are more and more ways to debuff fortification). Especially once you finish your conc opp item then you get the +6 wis from that. Granted tier 3 shroud items are almost as hard to get as a head of good fortune but for a 2nd life toon (I guess there are some first lifers but they were warned away from the build) who has some cash you have the advantage of being able to buy the ingredients needed. Also if you've got friends you can borrow. Also while the crown seems to fit the setup well, a superior potency 6 item could replace that easily. Even if you're in a situation where you'll want to keep swinging your dps weapon so can't equip the superior potency weapon you could easily click superior ardor VIII and a superior brilliance clicky without swapping weapons.

If "since" has been more than a few months, you should try it out again. The DC on the PK was stealth-buffed (a LOT) several months ago.

I was doing an epic BOB the other night and the pally in there was swinging a terror for the fun of it - I imagine he PK'd about a dozen folks in that very fast run.

Interesting. I'll have to give it another shot then.

+1 for an actual "easy to obtain" gear list that didn't include a full set of epic Chronoscope gear and an ESoS!

Great info for people to consider (+1)...

The only items on your list I would disagree with are the magewright set, for a couple of reasons:

    1) Out of all of the effect on the 2 piece set there are 1 neet to have (+6cha which is also easy to get on a ToD ring), 1 nice to have (+15concentration), and one "oh, that's interesting" (the get hit %chance for 75% spell dmg). Pretty much everything else is of little or no value to a Str based melee WF FVS.

    2) As a melee WF FVS you are going to eventually want 2 greensteel items. Most likely those will ideally be a ConOp/3xAir SP item (often goggles) and a HP item (Smoke II or Mineral II) which, in your equipment setup, only leaves the cloak.

I tested it today. It was decent in some places but awful in others. In tide turns and BoB it worked pretty well. In small problem it was near useless. The biggest strike against it is that the mobs that are vulnerable to the insta kill also die very fast (and aren't very threatening to begin with) so even if they're at max HP it's only slightly better than a dps weapon. Then when you come across mobs that are less vulnerable it's actually worse than a dps weapon.

All said as far as budget (minimal farming or low plat cost) weapons go this is likely the best so good call pointing this out.

Also props for keeping it to 2 packs (still that head of good fortune which doesn't make sense with the rest of the list being easily obtained gear from 2 packs this stands out as a difficult to obtain item from a separate pack).

I agree that the HoGF is significantly harder to farm than everything on the list.

It's not really required, however. You can alway use a Moderate Fortification Ring or put it on a belt, which are really easy to find, until you have farmed yourself the HoGF. The Luck save is nice, but as a Favored Soul you can put Recitation on yourself at anytime anyway, which is also a Luck Bonus of +2.

Get a Cove ring to tier3 and put Heavy Fort in the green slot. Does everything the HoGF does, and a hell of a lot more.

Yeah that thing is such a super consolidator for many, many builds.
