Default Arcane Archers, should I take a lvl of Rogue?

Hello gents, I have a lvl 12 full ranger AA. And it's been fun. But as I pass lvl 10 I found out that even though I have awesome spot check, without the trap finding class feature, I cannot spot traps at this level anymore. This drive me nuts. So I want to ask you guys' opinion, should I take a lvl of rogue so not only I get the trap finding feat, the plus 1d6 sneak attack, bonus reflex save and extra skill pts sounds good to me.

Do you think it's worth it for giving up the lvl 20 ranger level?

If you're going to take a level of Rogue, it's best to do that at level 1 to take advantage of the "bonus" skill points. As an Arcane Archer, you're going to want the Ranger capstone, so at this point, it may not be wortkhn taking that Rogue level.

You could always roll up a second character with Rogue at level 1 to toy around with... if you like the way it's going, grab a heart of wood +1 and change your 1st toons 1st level to Rogue.

Do not, ever, multiclass on the fly. It should always be planned beforehand.

In this case you'll have problems getting rogue skills up when taking the rogue level so late. And you'll lose out on ranger capstone, which is nice for ranged rangers.
DDO: If a problem cannot be solved by the application of DPS, you're not applying enough.

    NO.

If your going Ranger route 20th Rgr is the way to go.

Multi class routes for AA types incude 12/6/2 ftr/rgr/mnk , but their are many others

Including new repeater builds and Zen archery routes

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Throwing away your capstone this late in the game would be inadvisable for what amounts to alleviating an annoyance, albeit a potentially lethal one.

As everyone else has said, No!

What you gain is largely meaningless - you'll still need to max out your gear to actually find the traps and won't be able to do anything about them anyway, you only get a few more skill points on your rogue level, and rangers have great reflex saves. Plus, traps become less common in the teen levels. If you're really worried, work on boosting your reflex save, then you'll be able to ignore most traps anyway.

Like everyone else, my advice is no.

Instead concentrate on getting your reflex save up (if you are failing saves a lot) and getting your hit point up to where the occasional failed save does not kill you. Then just walk through or jump over 99% of the traps, the few you cannot make it through, try going around or time them and sprint through.

Thank you guys. As now, I really, really enjoying play AA. I even roll up a 2nd Elf AA Wiz/Ftr/Rgr to play with Kenzai/AA build. I might go with you guys idea to roll up another AA with first lvl rogue.

To reinforce your decision, the Trapfinding feat granted by Rogue 1 does not have any impact on Spot checks. It only allows you to make Search checks against sufficiently difficult traps that you would otherwise be unable to. If you're missing Spot checks and you have max ranks, adding a rogue level will have 0 impact.

Actually, that isn't true. If you don't have trapfinding, you won't get Spot notifications for traps if the DC is high enough. I think it's 25 or so. It's on one of the loading screens. Now it's also required to find higher difficulty boxes, but it is not limited to that.

To the OP, I agree with everyone else, don't take a Rogue level now. If you want an AA that can do traps, a 12 Fighter/ 6 ranger/ 2 Rogue or 11 Ranger/ 6 Fighter/ 3 Rogue with an elf or half-elf are better choices.
