How many quests have I done from the back, with both hands full of a huge slice of pizza dripping with cheese....and reaching down with my little finger to press "tab"....

Since Paralyzing weapons work almost flawlessly at levels 10 to maybe 15, having IPS and a paralyzing longbow can be a real gem these levels. Targeting the one in the back and with some tactical movement you can keep entire rooms CC'd by yourself. I'd value that more than Impr. Crit, but I don't know if the extra DPS from crits is the stronger choice now with 10k Stars to increase pew-pew time.

That and i'm also thinking about the value of Precise Shot too, being able to kill the nuker in the back of a group, even if you melee the entire rest of the group is a pretty nice thing to have available to my way of thinking (which is usually a solo/duo way of thinking).

FYI, about Touch of Death (ToD)...

I've discovered I just don't have the Ki to use it, so I'm dropping it, which frees up a TON of Action Points.

I made that conclusion long ago I'm still entertaining the idea of porous soul/static charge for raids. Could be some considerable DPS if most of the party has litII's or are arcanes with EES.

Oh I'm keeping static charge loaded... Hit the boss with it, then pull out the Lit II bow.

I find I do ok with ToD on my monkcher. Especially, say, Shroud Pt 1, where you can unleash a mshot on one portal, fists on the next 'til ToD built up, repeat 'til mshot available again. Applicable to bosses that last long enough too. Seeing as I spend most of the time on this char in raids, that works for me - there's enough meatsacks around to build ki. I usually switch to Earth for the DR/HP/crit boost during boss fights too which helps a little. Along with the enhanced Ki necky, that seems to be enough.

I personally melee a lot with this build. ToD is a very nice addition to damage when 10k and MS are on cooldown... You can just wear a ki item like oremi's neckle or frozen tunic and never run out of ki.

By the way I want to tank with this build cause I will be able to hit 80 ac(without combat expertise), that's why I dropped dex to 15 and gave up improve precise shot and paladin past life(I don't have it but I hope to have a healer in party with recitation) for IC:bludgeon and Power Attack.
I have eRaven and eClaw plus half the eChrono sets and Earth stanceIII with 34 strenght and 80 ac so don't try to tank seems like a waste to me

I would also ask if the lit2 is really better than bow of sinew, I love the x5 critics!

Honestly, I don't know if QD or IC:B would be better

I'd rather go for IC:B due to thraak wraps PK procs being based on crits, those wraps are nasty on trash.

If your dex > your wis it's WAI, in the other case i think the bug is limited to your inventory window 'weapon stats' part : if you check the actual attack die rolls when pew-pew'ing you should notice an attack bonus tied to your wis.

What's your Ki looking like when not meleeing? How long can you go activating 10K Stars on the passive Ki from Water III?

Do you think the +2 passive generation from Grandmaster of Flowers could let you forgo melee entirely? What if you also wanted to keep up Shadow Fade?

Apologies for the minor Necro, but this is my personal favorite of the Monkcher builds (no offense intended to WoWo) and I'd love to see what you took with the freed up APs and how the build has changed with the new gear.

Heh, I'm embarrassed but my monk-archer is still at level 20...

I've got 5 guys... 3 are capped at 25, and pretty close to done with their EDs... 1 is at 22 with a lot of work to go.

My monk-archer is also still at 20 because I needed someone who can farm non-epic challenges... I built a level 12 Tier III (2% Dodge, 1% crafted Dodge, and blurry) and a level 16 Tier III Bracers (3% Dodge, 1% crafted Dodge, and blurry) for my tank.

I'm just about ready to start leveling my monk-archer again...

Still not sure if I'm going Shiradi Champion, or Grandmaster of Flowers.

I have already picked up a +8 WIS item and a +3 Insight wisdom spiders-spun Caparison (also has Armor Bonus +9, Resistance +6, Enhanced Ki +1, Reinforced Fists, Concentration +15, Toughness), so WIS is still getting maxed out.

I am looking forward to playing him next... I'll update this thread when I have more experience as an archer in the new content.

I've been out of the game for LONG time, but naturally the expansion piqued my interest a bit, and I'm sort of contemplating getting back into it... I have loads of changes to read up on though, but it's nice to see the Monkcher builds are still going strong (although I kinda miss the time when they were odd and exotic and not sorta mainstream, as I get the impression they are now?)

Anyway, have you considered Shadowdancer as ED for a Monkcher of this split?
