The Past Life stacks up to 3 times. Past life stacks with Garments of Equilibrium OR Jidz-Tet'ka. Jidz-Tet'ka do NOT stack with Garments of Equilibrium.

You were a Monk in a past life. You occasionally find yourself contemplating the mysteries of life. Each time you acquire this feat you gain +1 to damage rolls. This feat can be stacked up to three times.

this can be stacked up to three times

You recall more about your past life as a monk. You have +2 to your Concentration skill, deal increased unarmed damage (one step higher than normal on the unarmed combat chart), and can enter an evasive trance once per rest, granting the evasion feat for a short period of time.

    this cannot

please do not bring general chat in the marketplace to the forums thx

    in conclusion:
PL stacks with jidz in earth stance - yes
PL stacks with garments - yes
garments stacks with jidz in earth - no

I thought I heard somewhere that Alchemical Handwraps with Byeshk also give another die step? Is this a lie, or something similar, or correct?

Yes. The increased damage die from Byeshk on Alchemical Handwraps is an Item bonus, same as Garments of Equilibrium and Jidz-Tet'ka bracers, so they won't stack with each other, but will stack with the Monk Active Past Life.

Sounds like I won't be needing Garments or Jidz then. Good, since I don't have the packs yet (two of the few I don't have) and those die steps were basically my only drive for possibly getting the packs.

A d14? (Now, how do those look like?) And wouldn't an increase starting from 2d12 be more like 6d6 or something in 3.5?

And wouldn't 3 past lives + any of the items result in FOUR die steps higher?? 2d14 don't really look that exciting...

Well, that depends on the implementation; there is no standard in 3.5 for this situation, although the large monk table goes from 2d8 to 3d6, 3d8, 4d8.

No, the active past life feat can only be taken once; the passive past life feat stacks, but it's increase is less and works slightly differently.

Ah, of course you are right, in fact only 2 Dice-Ups can be achieved (Item + Past Lives), mea culpa.

I like having both the Jidz bracers and the Garment of Equilibrium when I'm leveling.

The bracers only give you the damage die increase when you are in earth stance, while the the garments give the increase all the time.

This let's you stay in fire stance (increased DPS and KI Generation), where the Jidz bracers give you +25% healing amp, while still benefiting from the damage die bump from the garments.

If you also have the Golden Greaves (boots that give DR 3/- and +15% striding), then you have the best of both worlds (until you reach the levels where better gear is available and/or the stance benefits overshadow the boots/garments bonuses).

Let me just stop you here, because I see this misunderstanding a lot; Fire is not a DPS stance after level 6, and barely then. Fire is for when you need more ki, that's it, and that should pretty much only be between levels 9 and 12 on dark monks (to feed touch of death).

Wind is your general DPS stance, at least until 12 when the +1 crit multiplier from Earth puts it into contention.

The rest of your post has some interesting points, except that the Jidz-Teka bonus from Wind is generally pretty useless.

*Looks up at his previous post.* Nope, you failed to go back in time and stop me. I actually finished writing everything. Still getting used to how message board stuff works?

Eh, I like the +4 str from GM Firestance. And the increased Ki generation lets me fire off ToD a lot more often. I've used it pretty solidly all up through lvl 20, switching between that and GM Earth Stance. And with the increased Fort on raid bosses, it's not as far behind Earth stance as it used to be.

I don't use Wind Stance, don't see much need for it.

I'd like to point out that in a way, Fire is a DPS stance. The increased STR is a +2 to-hit and damage with GM Fire, with every attack. Plus, for Dark Monks, the increased ki generation helps them allow Touch of Death more often, further increasing their DPS. However, at higher levels, and with the Jidz-Tet'ka bracers, I can understand Fire stance being considered a utility stance because of the extra healing amplification, especially while soloing.

    This.
It can mean the difference between Power Attack on versus Power Attack off, and the ki is very nice while stunning and doing tons of high-cost strikes.
But overall, sure it's not the best stance if you're looking for DPS.
