    Wink TR time again

To all my Sarlona friends, it's that time again to TR. My next build is going to be a Pally and I was looking for some suggestions. All help is welcome, thanks ;-)

    A few questions…

What toys do you have from previous lives?
Are you picking up a past life or staying paladin?
Will this be played much or will a second account be used for the heavy lifting?

An 18/2 Paladin Monk AC build (Defender) seems pretty cool, especially with the changes to the defender line. I'd ask Clue about his build.

Khopesh user with lots of toys from past lives, to be honest this will be my last melee life for my completionist. I will not be staying a paladin, nor will I be using a second account to level. I'm looking for a solo paladin build and don't mind to mix and match classes. Let me know if you have any other questions ;-) and thanks everyone for your input.

I'd also suggest 18/2 with either rogue (for umd and some trapskills) or monk - personally i prefer monk since you get 2 free feats and stances while centered, won't be able to keep trapskills maxed out and already have some healing spells as a paladin. If you feel too feat starved, you also have the option to bring in up to 6 ftr (i'd suggest 2 levels of fighter early then for the feats then) - but 18/2 with monk should have all you need.

Which race are you going to pick? As a human or half-elf, maybe with cleric dilletante for better selfhealing, the hunter of the dead PrE makes leveling really comfortable due to a lot of healing amp and immunity against energy drain on PrE II. As a wf defender of siberys is the way to go IMO.

I like being a paladin cause I can say that I'm touching myself when I use lay on hands.

Some of this may be pretty “duh” but here is my take…

I would do the 2-3 monk splash for sure.

Defender is slow, and KoTC will only be good for a little bit. Don’t do
    either of these.

HoTD will make a lot of places easier, ghost touch and neg level immunity
    is nice.

2-hander or wraps as needed until your GS khopeshes come online. You
should then have GTWF and be able to leverage them and that style.

2 monk for feats+evasion is a gimmie, the 3rd monk level is speed. You are
not keeping the build once capped so having a mutt build won’t matter.
Running faster is like having another voice/mantle, faster xp is good times.

I would probably get the monk levels first and then two paladin levels. Once
those are done you can go a few different ways.

2-3 monk, 6 ranger for TWF feats ‘n bows, rest paladin
2-3 monk, rest paladin, play a bit like a battle-cleric
1 thief, ? monk, 2 pal, intersperse thief and pal levels, do this only if you want trap handling
Something else completely crazy you think will level well

    Hope this helps.

The Divine Phoenix build appears to getting some positive feedback. Self-healing, decent sustained DPS, exceptional burst DPS, sufficient UMD, OL and DD skills. Just a thought.

10% is slow. I would cut myself while crawling to quests because I would have too much time to think about the horrible path I took in life.

WF would be an OK way to go.

I like the way this build sounds, but I wasn't planning on eating any tomes since I'm just going to tr as soon as it's capped again. Are the tomes required to get some of the feats, or is this just a suggestion??

I'm no expert on the build by any means but I would say that at least a +2 Dex tome would be helpful for finishing out the TWF line, or given your monk PL you could simply swap two Str level-ups for Dex and still get decent DPS. You'll definitely require an 18 Cha to qualify for DMIII, so I think that may be situation for a tome as the points will be very tight otherwise.
