About to TR into a FvS and would like to know what gear I should farm for leveling.
I like the
- Abashi set, good level 5+ gear
- a set of armor with Invulnerability on it DR 5/Magic is great at low levels (pre 10)
- Ring of Feather Falling is a nice to have - no Minimum Level, cloak of feathers end reward can work in a pinch for 99% of low level stuff otherwise.
- Underwater Action Item (Low ML so you can use it during WW)
- Eternal wand of cure minor wounds (Catacombs) <- good for topping off, saving In-CAP party members
- Your Greensteel/weave Items - Get items at Level 11 and Weapons at 12
- Dragontouch Armor - Don't need to go for perfect this life as you will be coming back, but try to get something that will enhance your level 16 experience.
- Phiarlan Mirror Cloak - SR 17 at level 3 is great defense from casters.
I'm sure there are others, I was also keeping my list to stuff you could reasonably get and avoiding the ultra rare.
I would also like to know what I need to get the DC of my blade barrier to.
Depends on the build your using...
A 30 DC blade barrier might as well be a DC 16 blade barrier at end game. They're both very powerful.
If your going for DCs, make sure they're at 34+ or you'll find that monsters will save against them a lot.
Wisdom=18base+5lvls+2tome+6item+3exeptional+2enh=3 6
10Base+9spell+2item(Craftable)+13wisdom=34+1(litan y+human wis enh)+2Spell focus feat+1(+4 tome)+Past lifes(?)= Potentially over 40.

I highly suggest Human/Helf for an evoker.
Not sure about your feat choices but I'll throw out a suggestion.

More than likely going human and taking both spell focus evocation feats. Still taking suggestions on gear for leveling so it will be as quick and easy as possible.

I'd drop Cha to 11 or 12 and put those points into strength.How does this look?

Two things are very easy in this game:Could you explain why?
1) Getting enough charisma to cast your level 9 spells with a comfortable cushion in case of Cha drain. 12 + 6 item + 2 Capstone = 20. Poof. Done. Put exceptional Cha, Airships, and class enhancements on top of that if you like.
2) Getting Str drained. With a base of 8 in a casting oriented build, you're only likely to hit 14. That MAY (may...) put you into the threshold of being immune to being made helpless due to 0 strength, it will for sure get you heavily encumbered...a lot. Yes, you can cure it, but that is time and resources that needn't be spent. Also the road to wearing that +6 item will be unpleasant, since stuff will str drain you earlier, and you won't have the strength to withstand it.
Difference between 12 and 14 starting charisma = 29 spell points at level 20. Out of a pool of ~2800 (that's 1%)
Difference between 8 and 10 strength = Enourmous quality of life improvement.
