You forgot to add that we rarely have any barbarians on the runs.

If that were true we'd never finish a raid. Everyone knows it's impossible to complete a quest without a barbarian in the group and we complete so we must have one and you just don't notice.

That's why every time you see an LFM looking for DPS the only thing they're looking for is a barb or fighter. Why? Because there is no other form of DPS in DDO. Come on Stainer all those LFMs can't be wrong. So you must be wrong because we complete so we must have barbarians to do so. You must just get too drunk to remember they were in the party.

I could sacrifice 4 AP for an extra damage boost but that would be the only extra damage I could squeeze out of the build.

This right here highlights the problem. A tank is NOT trying to get every little bit of DPS possible. That is NOT a tank.

Your items have NO tank gear in them. Where's the mention of all your dodge bonuses, your reaching that golden 80 AC, your 50+ healing amp, your DR when shield blocking, your extra HP items? Even if you have these things, the fact that you didn't mention them shows you don't understand the point of tanking. In that group, which completed after they dropped you, which had a plan that would have worked had you just went with it, there was a tank that had these things and, heaven forbid, less DPS than you. So you are supposed to take off your Epic hate gear. Change it out with Leviks bracers. Or some AH +6 random gear. It's okay. You'll live. And that's the point. You'll live, through the quest, complete, and EVERYONE will be happy. Tanking is NOT about who is able to get aggro. If the tank can't get aggro, the rest of the party waits until he does. That is how this game is played. And it's not just my opinion, I didn't come up with this plan, look up, in year old forum threads, strategies for tanking and gear for tanking. They're everywhere.

I always forget this and I turn up at your raids on a barb. And then you guys always say something and I'm like "oops"

But hey at least I'm capable of drinking SF pots when in trouble. And I'm aware that I'm a good full on DPS but wouldn't necessarily be the best tank depending on what content we're doing. AND I'm always happy to be led by your Eric or whichever way the collective inebriated bunch thinks is the best way to go.

(Fortunately playing a barb is a fairly simple collection of buttons to play - which is why I instinctively bring them to your runs :P )

So I'd say the very opposite. Fun runs=success and laughter at the same time. This is after all a game and if you need certain pixels (aka gear) on your account to feel worthy you might need to rethink things.
