Is Improved Shield Mastery worth it on a pale master wizard?

My PM has room for one but only if I sacrifice spell focus: enchantment, so I'm wondering is Improved Shield Mastery worth it on a PM or is just basic shield mastery good enough?

I'm not planning on grabbing it for my TR, seems a bit expensive for just 5%.

hmm shield mastery and tank wizard is a nice build if you want to make one ofcourse you have to sacrifice other things to get them.its up to you and how you like to play but i dont think anyone can consider it a bad choice.

I'd take it over SF:ench. You should hit 40 ench DC anyway.

I would go as far a shield mastery and only with enough tr's to have a good spell pen before than use your feats for spell pen it's extremely important for a pale master. Improved shield bash is a third required feat and probably not worth it for the 5% extra.

It comes down to how much punishment do you want to/expect to be taking with one feat I could handle 2 epic mobs really pounding on me with both I can handle about 4 mobs if I break out a leviks for the full 25%, also 20% with large shields isnt bad, double past life wizard should be able to fit them both in easy anything less then 2 wizard pastlives and decent gear your spell pen is going to suffer.

12 feats you get 13 on a human so MT if you really want to keep it I just took MT @ level 1 then switched it to toughness @ level 18 with the free swap and I still keep SF enchant as my wiz level 20 feat.
