    Default smites

Question about smite evil and exhaulted smite: they share the same number of uses so i assumed like haste boost 1-4 you would drag the best to yer hot bar as you aquired them. However, plain smite evil has an attack animation and some silver flare when hitting an enemy yet exhaulted smite does not and this is confusing as after i took exhaulted i put that on the hot bar in place of plain smite. Question is are they one and the same or should they both be readily available and what in fact are the differences as it relates to game play as they share the same number of uses and refresh at the same time. Or are they the same just one lacking some animation? Ive looked at the combat log and plain smite states "you have smitten x" and exhaulted doesnt seem to state anything? Some clarification on these pally abilities would be appreciated.

Get rid of the smite on your tool bar and add the exhaulted. They both use the same "uses", but obviously ES is better. It also, like you mentioned, is lacking the "special" animation...thus making it quicker.

Both exaulted and smite evil work as they're written, exaulted smite just doesn't have the new animation which lowers your DPS by breaking your attack chain.

Yeah, the biggest benefits of getting Exalted Smite is that you can actually hit what you're trying to Smite and can Smite and get 2 regular attack in in the time it takes to do one regular Smite. I've lost track of how many Smites I've lost beacuse by the time I actually swing at my target, he's halfway across the screen. It was even worse with the recent melee targetting issues. I wish that the Devs had just added the glowing sword to a regular attack to signify a smite and left the animations alone. And hopefully they won't take this as a reason to give the snew smite animations to Exalted Smite as well.
