    Default just wondering. items for $$

    So i am mostly wondering, but would anyone ever buy a code for ddo points online off their website, and then trade the code for in game items?

    if so, how much would you want?

    I wouldn't do it, because a: its cheesy, b: with cannith crafting now, largely pointless, and c: Turbine may be remaining quiet on the issue but I still think this is pushing the borders of acceptable use.

    I *would* however, buy points like that as a gift, competition prize or some such. In fact, now I think about it, I may even offer to buy the minimum points bundle as a prize in a guild competition for the first all guild group to get 5 stars on one of the new challenges at level. Hmm...

    Turbine has stated their opinion on the issue, but most people haven't seen it or are choosing to ignore it.

    And yes, I realize that the quote was pertaining to trading for guest passes, but it's the exact same thing.

    Can you send me/post a link? I haven't seen anything and I do try not to give advice when I'm not reasonably well informed.

    NOT the same thing: there are several threads on the subject, you just have to look, and turbine has given conflicting answers;

    this seems to indicate that it is OK...but buyer beware.

    HERE - http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?&postid=4123180

    Cordovan closes the thread with:

    trading in-game items for real-world monetary values is prohibited by the Code of Conduct.

    this indicates that it is not OK.

    There was quite a discussion going on the first thread, I suggest you go read through it, but I don't beleive there is any other turbine comments about the whole issue. As Tolero is the senior community specialist, I would probably defer to her comment (over Cordovan's)as the current turbine stance on the issue.

    Personally, I'd defer to the Code of Conduct on this one.

    Not saying you are wrong or right - if you read the first thread I quoted, there is a discussion on how turbine has stated that TP have no monetary value, so therefore you are not actually violating the CoC.

    I have no opinion on the matter, am just pointing out there is no official answer, and the Turbine community team has been giving conflicting answers too. I don't really care to discuss/argue either point -if anyone wants to, I think the thread in general is a better discussion place:
