    Default Paladin(12)/Fighter(6)/Rogue(2) Help

    I wanted a toon who could get me the pally past life without eating any significant resources. I'm looking for constructive criticism. Please do not advise me to use the favored soul or monk class, half-elf race, or drow; I don't have the first three purchased, and drow is just too squishy for me.

    My biggest concern with this build is that it might have too low of hp(only about 520-580 with gear) and strength(Likely around 30 or so) to be good at it's dps role, and overall just be bad. I had hoped the rogue's evasion and UMD might help out with that, but I'm not sure.

    EDIT: Fixed some minor issues like me not taking my feat at level 20, and a slightly different level progression.

    Nice build. Don't have to change anything to be honest.

    Did something like this, you won't like the advice, but went Drow (the intelligence, dexterity and Charisma boost really make up for the negative con) but Human does get the extra feat... which you spend on Improved Sunder. So, trade off 1 feat and 40 HPs, I dunno.

    Otherwise, and again, just my opinion, I'd also switch to Defender of Siberys, the improvements made to it just ROCK, unless you are really planning to only run shroud and other very Devil/Demon heavy end game quests, then KotC isn't as uber as it once was. Of course, I was a drow so kinda wanted to offset the low HP, and the Strength boost is universal, whereas the boost with KotC is just to devils.

    Finally, if you REALLY want to go low resources on this character, drop to 2 or 4 levels of fighter, the extra Paladin levels would get you Holy Weapon, a free +5 Holy Burst DR breaker with permanent Protection from Evil. If you already have the crafting levels or green steel though, this is a waste, stick with the fighter 6.

    Again, did this with a Drow, first life before crafting, but Human should be about as fun. When I TR'd it, went straight Paladin/Rogue, no fighter at all, and working out even better, but I have the resources now to make it work.

    And, there's really nothing wrong (that I see) with the current build either.

    Oh, and I'd invest in a +2 int tome, I know, resource intensive, but if you use it by level 7, you'd get all those extra skill points!

    I'll look into DoS. I keep hearing that it's good now. I don't plan to keep this toon at 20 for long at all. I did the last 2 levels just for show, since as soon as he hits 20 he's gonna TR again, and I'll probably do this build 2 more times for the healing amp. That's all it's for.

    i think you should just drop fighter totally, or turn into a solar pheonix, or turn into a tempest I DosII.
    monk gives the same amount of feats-toughness, power attack, two weapon fighting. and give you fire stance+jidz.
    A rogue is basically, "Look at me or die."

    I don't have the monk class so that is out of the question. Tempest has NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING on Kensai. +2 shield bonus to AC, slight damage bonuses vs select enemies, and a slight increase in off hand hitting, or haste boosts, weapon specialization and +1 combat DCs and action boosts; Kensai is better imo.

    Going ranger will also starve me for feats, since I will drop ITWFing(-2 feats), but lose the 4 bonus feats I get from fighter, thus still requiring me to take GTWFing, and lacking the 2 feats fighter gives.

    I have considered the DoS line, but I'm still hesitant. The massive damage vs evil outsiders that KotC gets is just extremely tempting, but at the same time the hp boosts from DoS II would fix this toon's hp problem. On the other hand, the enhancement requirements for DoS are defensive based as opposed to melee dps, which is what this build is planned for, and it leaves the build enhancement starved.

    Okay, this post is more to make myself realize on paper it will have sufficient stats to kill things.

    First, strength break down.

    15 base + 5 level up, +6 item, +1 human, +2 fighter, +2 rage, +2 ship buff = 33

    Easily obtained gear and buffs. Could be around 36-40 with full gear.

    Next hit points.

    120 paladin
    60 fighter
    12 rogue
    20 Heroic Durability
    10 Draconic Vitality
    40 constitution
    22 toughness
    40 toughness enhancements
    =324 naked
    60 +6 con item
    30 GFL
    20 Minos Legens
    45 green steel
    =479 with gear
    20 ship buffs
    20 rage
    =519

    All of this is easily obtained gear. Naturally if I went full out with tons of nice things it would be around 650 or so.

    Damage Break down(Promised damage bonuses that are added to the roll before crits but after dice rolls).

    Power Attack +5
    Strength +11
    Kensai Khopsesh +1
    Divine Might +4
    Divine Favor +3
    Rage +1
    =25 damage.

    Not a lot, but then once I factor in the damage on evil outsiders and what not, which is what this build is going to be fighting most, it will be around +40 damage per hit for main hand and +28 for off hand with chance to double strike. It also only factored in the base "+"s to damage that are guaranteed.

    Dice damage break down(damage inflicted by rolling dice, and thus averages must be relied on).

    Khopesh 1d8 = 4.5 dmg
    Divine Sacrifice 7d6 = 3.5 = 24.5 dmg
    KotC Evil Killer 2d6 = 3.5 = 7 dmg
    =36 damage average.

    This is again not a lot, but once factored in with good weapons with effects like Lit II khopesh or Epic Chaos Blades the damage will definitely rise. Average damage per swing versus most enemies is gonna be a sexy 51 per swing. I'm so psyched!

    Still hoping for critique! I'm hesitant to start this build until more people actually provide opinions on it!

    Slight change; Moved OTWF to level 20 and took Toughness again at level 15, granting +22 extra hp to the build.
