    Default Update 12 Cannith Favor

I did a couple runs today after transfering my 20 PM.

I completed the rushmore quest but got no favor for completion (no optionals done) just the complete on slay and rush against time. (at level 4)

I have done the kobold quest a couple times now with 2 successes. (both at level 5)

First one presented me with a star (*) for completing the 500 dragonshards and destroying the 6 kobold idols. when i looked at challenge bar it showed 2 favor.

Second run I completed the shards destroyed the idols and destroyed the archon. 3 stars (*) but still it only shows me at 2 favor?!?

could you please explain how this favor mechanic works.

    In addition...

I noticed that my challenges still show zero (0) stars (*) on both quests. is this WAI ?

Also are the stars (*) tied to a specific optional? ie if I complete the kobold and destroy the idols but not the archon will i get an additional (3rd) star (*) if i then run it without destroying the idols but kill the archon?

The whole interface doesn't seem to be updating that well. Did a relog fix your favor?
It'll display the favor gained on the challenges tab, the patrons tab didn't seem to be updating. 1 favor per star, which should mean 100 possible favor if you can 5 star everything.

100 favor for one quest? O.o are there tons of optionals or what, thats seems quite a bit of favor for a single adventure

although i have yet to look at those quests, so it may become more clear when/if i do that

My hypothesis it rounds down the favor if you things below your level. Based on a small part of the percentage siimlar to the XP/Ingredient penalty it applies.

    EX:
    1 of my runs:
    picture portals: 5 stars, lvl15 = -75% penalty

    4 favor received..

    Maybe 1/3rd of the penalty applies? 75% 1/3 = 25%.
    So 5 -25% = 4.

    lvl20 in lvl4 quest = -90% penalty iirc. 90 /3 = 30%

    1 star = 1 favor
    1 favor x0.7 = 0.7 favor. - 0 (rounds down?)

Not sure on this. Could simply be bugged. dev comment pls.

IMO you should not get favor unless you run it at lvl. Incentive to run at lvl21-25 should be additional loot and XP. (u do get ingrd bonus atm, but the amount lvls are so high they are too easy to get even running below lvl)

100 favor total for them all. There are 4 maps, 5 quests per map, 5 stars per quest.

    lets do some math 101

Instead of saying 1/3 of 75% how about we call it the complement of .75 aka (1-.75)

5-(5/1*1/4)=/=4 it is 3.75. according to your assumption of rounding down that would be 3 favor

    http://ddowiki.com/page/Experience_points
running quests 7 levels or more over level = no xp, not -90%

I think the system is a tad borked right now and we should just let the devs have a chance to iron it out before we try to infer anything from it.

If these Challenge Quests don't give full favor if you're running it above level, then it's just another reason not to bother with these quests.

    Reasons to run it:
    1) To get ingredients for items that you want to craft.
    2) Favor to unlock Artificer

    Reasons not to run it:
    1) Currently poor XP
    2) No chests or loot other than turn-in
    3) Repair, pot, wand and scroll bills with no compensation (see #2)
    4) Lack of replayability since some of these are just un-fun (Dr Rushmoor)
    5) If you must be at level to get full Favor, as suspected
    6) If most of reasons 1-5 are true, it will be hard to get groups together

If this is the direction that the game is taking, color me unimpressed...I believe that's a pasley pattern

I suspect that it is more like the market quest devil assault. On normal, which is level 6, you get 6 favor, on hard-level 12, you get 12 favor, and on elite-level 18, you get 18 favor...thus level 4 to (x) and you get normal favor, (x+1) to y is x2 and (y+1) to 25 is x3. And the more stars you get, the more rewards you get...at least these are my thoughts, I could be wrong

just relogged in and checked my challenge log - it now shows 2 for rushmore and 3 for kobold one which matches my stars (although they still arent showing up on the log) so i guess it is 1 per star per quest

oh yea missed this my first glance at notes:

    • If you complete all 5 star objectives in one run of a Challenge at its maximum available CR level, all of your blue stars will turn to gold - you'll earn bonus favor and bonus experience!
    • Players over level (5 or more) will not be rewarded items or XP, but may still earn favor from star accomplishments.

1st point - So yea cool sounds like you'll need to do 15 or 20 on most of em, for max favor.

2nd point, pretty sure thats false atm on the current build. XP perhaps, but items - no ive gotten a few, heavily penalized at around -90% tho.
