My advice is to continue with your CC focus, if you really were to switch to necro it would take 2 feat swaps at least and an enhancement reset since pale masters fit the necro focus more than a necro AM, although my general setup when lvling an AM is to start evo focus for the almost free MM and chain missile that tears through mobs till vale where even then its still easy to just spam force spells. But at high lvl raids and epics CC will be much more appreciated that at low-mid lvls were everything can easily be insta killed or beaten down in a few seconds.

*edit* sry bout the ninja post btw lol

    Default AM question.

    I am currently level 15 (13wiz/2rog).

I should point out upfront that I am casual player, so it takes me awhile to level up. Up to this point I have been running enchantment and conjuration lines, with gsf in enchant. I have enjoyed the build so far. However, it seems as if everyone is running necromancy over enchantment now. Is the difference in power level that severe? Should I switch out feats to respec my enchant for necromancy and keep the conjuration for crowd control? Or will I be fine with my cc focused AM?

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Thank you for the reply. I am not overly worried about the cost, I have the needed shards, and the enhancement reset comes automatic with the feat changes I would be making. My main concern is the effectiveness of my character. I play mostly with a small group of friends and I am always concerned with being able to pull my weight and then some. I am enjoying CC, I was beginning to wonder if necro might not be better for dealing with mobs than enchantment.

Well, at high lvls, necro is only good if you can obtain a decent dc, around 35 and up will work for a few things but to really consistently kill in epics you'd need in the 40's, whereas a CC focused AM will be very welcome since its much more sp efficient even when you fail to dance/hypno/web the mob. So if you want to go necro I'd recommend having decent gear to boost dc and going PM, if CC an AM will most likely excel due to PM's vampire form coming with a very hefty x4 light damage penalty, which means getting one shot in high lvls and epic quests by cleric type mobs. It all comes down to whether or not you want to help someone kill faster and control the field, of be the one killing fast

Good to know. I don't really care if I will be the one getting the kill count, so no worries there. Not having all the perfect gear makes me feel better about staying pure cc, where less than perfect dc's won't be as big of a deal. Thanks again for the info.
