Default Randomly generated trinkets and rune arms

Since we have crafting in the game at this point, it makes sense that trinkets and rune arms SHOULD be items that can be randomly generated in the loot tables. I am not suggesting they be overpowered, but at the same time, trinkets have been in the game since launch, and other than "named items" which can not even be used in the crafting system, there has never been any mention of trinkets that are just randomly generated loot the way you see with other items. Rune arms are a new concept, but so were outfits for Monks. You have the named items which are more powerful than the vast majority of randomly generated items, and that makes them desired, without them being exclusive "named" loot.

DDO has come a long way since the initial launch, but loot is still an area that could use some attention, and I am NOT talking about the high end stuff just to make already powerful characters even more powerful.

Doubt it will happen. Both would be a direct attack on store sales. The trinket, by making the store one completely pointless, and the rune arms, by providing a source of decent rune arms outside of Premium adventure packs.

Not sure I really want either of them clogging up the loot tables, either.

I never wanted outfits to clog up the loot tables, but they were put in. I am not saying that trinkets should be COMMON, but perhaps the "named trinkets" could be made so we can use them in the crafting system. Even a pearl of power, which can show up just about anywhere might work. Or make tinket crafting more complicated, where the material the trinket is made out of will limit what can be put on it.

The idea that the store is the ONLY source of something is actually a big negative for those who pay to play as is. Rune arms on the other hand, should be available as random loot, BUT, they should not be better than the named items. In fact, the named rune arms should be the ones that are MUCH better. Random rune arms might have the "shot" ability, without the imbue ability for example, and that would keep it balanced. It would be a level 20 item that might compare or beat much of the named versions, in the same way you get now. Names items in general will be better, but on occasion, you can come across a randomly generated item that is better in some ways.

It would be a lot of work to craft individual rune arms since they're completely
different from standard equipment, plus, they wouldn't even be usable.. Named
rune-arms are a sinch to get so I don't see why even mention it.

Trinket's already have +6 stat ability items added, they did this because trinkets
-aren't- randomly generated. If you add randomly generated trinkets then
all of Iq2 becomes a waste. Plus, if you haven't noticed, every equipment
slot has limitations on what can be found on it randomly, trinket
just so happens to stop at power..

Why not? Random outfits are inherently better than any other random armor type except Robes (which they are equivalent to). They gave you a better chance at getting good armor.

First, it isn't the only source. Shards of Power work, and craftable trinkets do drop as loot. But random ones would presumably be much more common than those (or what's the point?), and be unbound.

And I didn't say I liked having it in the store. I oppose all loot-selling in the store. For the very reason that it gives the Devs an incentive to make it difficult to get that loot in-game. I was telling you why I thought it was unlikely to happen.

Then what's the point of having them? The way you have it, they won't ever be better than very basic named ones. The Imbue is the best part of Rune Arms.

Default The trinkets I agree with,

But rune arms are a specific item for a specific class, how many different types do you really need? If they are put in random loot, they will be vender or deconstuction trash for all but arty's and arty splashes. If they end up like other random generated trash loot(ghost touch of backstabbing or WF only underwater action items) I could really do without it. Then again, if they are going to make useful items that drop in random loot, then I'm okay with that.
