Default Do electricity absorption 33% stack with 45%?

Do Electricity Absorption 33% (from cannith crafting) stack with Electricity Absorption 45% (from GS crafting)?

Yes, though the Green Steel absorption item doesn't behave as you describe -- each tier of the absorption applies multiplicatively/in sequence; that is, you see a reduction of 10%, followed by a reduction of 15% of the resulting quantity, followed by 20% of what remains...etc.

The cumulative effect of a Tier 3 absorption item is 38.8% reduction (which, of course, will "stack" with the 33% off of your cannith item or Djinn ring, for a total of 59% reduction).

More details: the percentage reduction will apply after Protection and Resistance effects have been pierced.

Different values of absorption stack. So, for example, if you had 10%, 15%, and 20% Fire Absorption from Greensteel, 33% Fire Absorption from Cannith Crafting, and 50% Fire Absorption from the Fire Shield spell, all would stack. But if you tried to put another 15% on a Tower of Despair ring, it would not stack.

And for anyone who cares, here's the breakdown:

33% Electric absorbtion plus a 10/15/20 Greensteed Electric abosbtion item =

    0.67 * 0.9 * 0.85 * 0.8 = .41
...in other words, you will take 41% of the total Electric damage that you "should" take after Protection from Electricity and Resist Electricity are taken into account. That's the same as a single 59% absorbtion item.

If you don't feel like spending the Shroud larges on an Electric absorbtion item and only take it up to the Altar of Subjugation, you can still get
    0.67 * 0.9 * 0.85 = .51
...which is the same as a single 49% absorbtion item.

Edit: Almost forgot to mention, Greensteel weapons and items inherantly evil and should not be used by good players. Anyone who cares about morality in real life should avoid using Greensteel items in DDO.

    +1

I'm pretty sure one of the Dream Edge (Mindsunder) variants has 20% electricity absorption -- good luck getting that one in particular though.

Thanks all for your explanations and formulas.

Good point. It's time to ask devs to make Essene of Cleansing applicable on GS weapons.
