Dual, btw. Duel is a fight between 2 people. =p
Rangers don't die, they just teleport to their bind point.

I think that consensus here in the forums is that the khopesh is the superior weapon for dual wield.

If you don't have a feat to spend on the khopesh try the dwarven war ax for dwarves, scimitars for elves and rapiers for drow.

That depends on many other factors such as the details of your character, the opponent you will fight, and the item choices available to you.

In fact, if you're a low-level character it might turn out that you should not dual-wield anything!

True.. until you get i2wf to boost the off-hand proc chance or have something good to offset the to-hit penalty (either high + weapons or guild augment slots.. incidentally only 1 of the weapons needs the accuracy augment to effect both hands), a 2hander can often be more effective, especially if said 2hander is the mighty carnifex
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

second best choice on a human MIGHT be a build built around those epic bastard sword you get in sentinel of stormreach that require the dragonmarks, especially now that bosses are up to 80% fort on epic. But still you are miles behind kopeshers. If you really want to you can try a godhand, but they are tanks and not dps. Pure monks are not really dps oriented. Also noted that you can wait to take kopesh proficiency till later levels, im pretty sure i saw some math earlier were, up till 30+ str and kopesh hitting on all attacks with pa, they are only mediocre. Usually till level 12/15 when you have a good to-hit, some good kopeshes and the full twf you use a two handed weapon.

Scimitars and rapiers are only slightly behind khopeshes. If you don't want to spend a feat on khopesh, then scimmy or rapier is the way to go.
And kukris are often overlooked, but are only an average of 1 point of damage behind scimitars and rapiers.
Scimitar/kukri combos are quite good, using the same IC feat, and losing 1 point of damage in the off hand while adding a comparable +2 to hit without spending a feat.

Are we looking for damage or aesthetics?

    Damage:

    Khopesh>Scimi=rapier (mostly)>bastard sword>everything else

    Aesthetics:

    Daggers> rapier + dagger > rapier + kukri > kukris > everything else

    khopesh> scimitar + rapier > bastard sword > longsword> stuffs.

though id really advise gunning for khopesh. If you have a decent BAB, you might not even need OTWF

Kopeshes? Are you kidding me?! Dual Halfling Monks FTW! Just grab them by the legs and start swinging!

All jokes aside. Kopeshes are great, but scimitars are not far behind if you can't spare the feat. Rapiers seem to be 10X the cost of other weapons in the Auction House, but now you can craft them so...

Handwraps are also very good for 2wf, but that won't work for your build.

Seriously, just carry a couple halflings.
