    Angry CC pikers

With the massive amount of pikers (people hanging out till door opens), I think a minimum amount of treasure map pieces should have to be gathered and turned in, per door opening, to be able to get into the CC event. It doesnt have to be a large amount, but it should be a number that would require players to function a little after each door opening. It's not fair to the functional players to have the door cluttered with pikers, while they sit and reap others hard earned fruits.

Byebye players just logging on and getting invited to a CC.

    Very bad idea.

Wait ... but you are perfectly fine with 6 adventurers hanging around and bossing kobolds, while they do all the hard work? O-o

Sounds very intriguing you know... People can basically stand anywhere they like or go questing anything they want between CC runs. You are essentially calling everyone on the server who are not farming CC maps "pikers" per your definition...

    Haha. +1

About thwe thread. I do not agree. Why? I did CC something like 50 times this event. Do u think i want to run for maps again, again and again? Its kinda boring... How many times can u do Smugglers, Butchers or Assault?

Why u just use game programmist did and enjoy what they made, than help them? U just sit and cwhine about what is wrong about new updates. Just get to it alone! ....

<Maybe its hard to understand butsome people have life. And if they dont have time enough to collect maps + CC? Should they resign from event?
Is this event only for players with a lot of time or without real life?

Sometimes i do maps. Sometimes i dont. Depends on time.

Piking is qwhwn u join group enter the quest and just stand in the one place, or just run doing nothing.

I'd rather see an improvement of the revenues of treasure maps and island roaming in general.

I often hang around outside when I am running around the house doing things. At other times, when I can, I run getting map bits. If we went with your suggestion I would put minimal amounts in for each run and would end up putting less in the box overall.

Just kick them out of Smuggler's Rest after 5 mins of inactivity.

They can all hang around and pike in the Harbor, instead.

They make the place look untidy, standing in from of the Barter Box not doing anything...

If they want to leech doubloons while their party does all the killing, then they'll have to contribute or GTFO.

Just add a very small chance of getting +3 tomes from the chests i Smuggler's Rest, and I think we'll see much more activity on the island.

Just start a rumour of a very small chance of getting +3 tomes, and we'll probably see much more activity on the island!

As people run around and ask:-

"there is a rumour you can get +3 tomes, is it true ?"

    "Yes its true!"

"So it is true you can get +3 tomes?"

    "I dont know."

    "You said it was true"

"No, I said it was true there was a rumour."

The entirety of the statement you made irks me.
How do you know they're not actually using the barter box/ hat box to upgrade their items and want to make absolutely sure they're not messing it up.

Statements like these make me shake my head.
As another has said earlier, some people stand around waiting for group or friends/guild and do things afk, whether it be cleaning up their house, making something to eat, or dealing with kids/spouses.

It's not your call to say who can or can't just stand around a certain area.

You have no idea what all those people are doing to be able to call them pikers.

YOU just think the door needs to open faster for YOU.

Any idea how long it takes to convert 2000 gems extra that are now useless because you finished your items and want to buy some elemental gems, jolly roger bombs, extra hats, treasure pots, ect... No.. I didn't think so. You just want the door to open faster for yourself because what you are doing is important. What everyone else is doing is 'pikeing'.

Are you one of those people who keep (trying) to drag mobs up on the ship to kill people? You know it hasn't worked yet.. We hear them. Stop clicking. Turn and blast them. And go back to clicking the trade button while thinking it was either some kind of jerk or a total noob who almost died.

If you want the doors open faster. Go farm faster in a quest with grog. And stop worrying about what everyone else is doing...

Perhaps you could have an "Occupy Wall Street" sit in to protest me not paying my fair share... Meanwhile, I'll pick up several hundred pieces per hour in the Harbor and break my mouse clicking them in one by one (insert a real fix here)...

I may have some runs where I contribute as much as the bottom 50% of US tax payers do in Fed. Inc. Taxes (0), where in many others I drop 300-400.

I know, we could add our piece count to our overhead visuals. If we haven't contributed a certain amount per instance, it will go PvP and you can beat them to take their Pieces...

    Bwahahaha! Just having fun...

Sometimes I drop 700 map pieces to open a door, then I might skip the next door opening session, as 700 is a pretty good number for one door. If you put a minimum on how many I need to do to enter, I will put that many in, and hold the rest for future doors.

(Kobolds not forgetting Water Works is the least of my crimes against kobolds. Walk the Butcher's Path a few times along with Kobold Assault makes Water Works look like a pleasant summer outing, except for the smell.)

This thread is ment for the people hanging out at the door waiting for it to open, not for the productive people in the area exchanging map pieces/items/hats and not the LFT peeps. I'm sure we all have lives outside this game, so the statements about 'no life' is mute. When you enter the CC area you are part of a larger group as a whole, not just a adveture party, so the loitering at the door IS a issue for all. Do I want to get into the event faster? YES, I do, and everyone who is interested in advancing they're toons would be to. Even if I wasnt looking to get anymore out of event, if I'm in the area, I would still feel obligated to collect MP for those who do need it still. Selfish and lazy peeps are the only ones effected by this. And instead of 'whining' (someone said) about the post, why not give constructive solutions/arguments. Some did, so I'm not talking to all o you.

LOL OP seriously. People have the right to chill in the ship and grab some R&R after doing a double of CC.

There is no rule nor reason that says people have to play hunt the pirate or earn a share of map pieces to have a right to run in CC. The design of the event is to encourage multiple types of play. I suspect its more likely you must just play on a time when most are asleep so the map turn in goes much slower. Typical mid day during US times you can barely get a bio and a smoke in between CC openings.

You all on your own could just go crank out runs of butchers path and earn tons to turn in if its such an issue for u to get into the CC faster. but this attacking other players for not playing how you think they should shows some deeper issues at work methinks.

Ok, how about instance wide countdowns as MPs are turned in so we can run around killing? Even better, allow it to broadcast to anyone under the influence of Pirate Grog. Then we can keep collecting and have a supply to deposit when the first 40 minutes is up?

Ok... I have a grand idea. It is the perfect solution for CC to open faster each time. Whenever Crystal Cove doors open, you should not go into the Crystal Cove Challenge. Instead, you stay out on Smuggler's Rest killing pirates for map pieces. In that 40 minutes the challenge is open, you should have collected quite a few Map Pieces to get a jump start for the next time Crystal Cove Challenge opens up. It allows the challenge to happen faster.

Sure it may seem like a sacrifice, but at least it will be for the good of the server, because you seem to believe the pikers are bad.

I've done my time gathering map pieces...

I've worked my kobolds to the bone...

Kobolds suffer back pain, and lost their career as dancers...

I've got my items and am done...

I'm just cashing out, and it takes time turning 300 of each gem into air elements...

I'm not piking, I'm just done.
