    Default Regarding Paladins

Many of you will remember my monk post earlier. I've been messing with him on Lamania for a few days now, got him to level 9, and decided I just do not like having to push buttons in crazy orders to do good damage. But, I remember someone comparing playing a monk to play a piano, and a paladin to a pipe organ. However, from what I understand of paladins, it's more like clicking one buff, then another, and continuing as needed to keep damage up. Is that basically what paladins do?

basically you keep up zeal, divine favor and divine might refresh as needed

while you are buffed- you spam divine sacrifice. repeat as needed.

Simple Paladin Playstyle (boring, but standard for tank n spank situations):
•buff/rebuff zeal & divine favor every ~2 minutes (4-5 if extended)
•Spam Smite and Divine Sacrifice until you run out of smites
    •Spam Divine Sacrifice.
    Fear the Koala.
Jial, Wyllywyl, and an ever-changing list of alts.

Yeah that's basically what I figured. What else is available for doing that makes it less boring? Clickies? More abilities?

Emergency loh or cures on party members, raising party members, intim to pull agro away from said party members, refresh wand buffs, prayer if no bard and to to help ac. Twitch if THF.

Lots to do, if you want to. That is how I end up playing my Pally usually.

What Khellendros said. Also, I do try to avoid Tank n' Spank as much as possible. In some places like Shroud, it gets unavoidable, in other places it can be fun to play around with Angle of Attack and agro mechanics (make sure you don't end up wiping your group though).

Ways I enjoy my Paladin -
•Learn to recognize a Healer's pattern, so that you can know when an LoH is wasted or necessary.
•When not a main tank, play around with avoiding spell AoE while still fighting, and learn to strafe around a boss that turns around a lot to guarantee a flank.
•Divine Righteousness, for use when you see whoever has agro can't handle it (don't use these when tanks are party assigned).
•Recognize a monster's tells for various attacks, and how to avoid them (best practiced against casters - eVoN1 Minotaur mages are great for this, due to slow casting speeds).
    Fear the Koala.

Paladin: Every 1 minute, stop swinging your sword and take a smoke break while you recast DM

Plus every 4min (or 2min if you don't have extend) stop and cast two other buffs. Without all three, your DPS will suck. Interestingly though, the spell buffs animation is much shorter than the DM animation.

and it's personal choice if u spam trip/shatter (if u got the right weapons at hand)
