    Default Changes to Destruction?

From release notes: Destruction and Improved Destruction have been changed. These effects now have a duration of 20 seconds each, and reduce Fortification as well as Armor Class. Destruction reduces Armor Class and Fortification by 1% every time this effect hits an enemy, up to a -4 AC and -4% Fortification. Improved Destruction now reduces Armor Class by 2, and Fortification by 2%, up to -8 AC and -8% Fortification.

Can this be applied by multiple characters with destruction and will they all stack?

    Or

Will it only be applied by the first character to hit the mob?

should be cumulative from each person hitting the mob with destruction up to a max of -4 - 4% destruction and -8 - 8% improved destruction (currently being reported as broken) for a total of -12 ac - 12% fortification.
I am roleplaying. My toons are zergers.

oooo, my breastplate of destruction may get some use now

the time decrease will unfortunately leave me looking for an awesome khopesh or set of wraps that have both imp dest and another useful ability. bye bye rhal's might

The stated intent is that ID and Destruct will not stack, so the max debuff is -8 AC, -8% fortification: "The new Improved Destruction applies a Destruction effect along with the additional -1/-1%. It's now actually better than vanilla Destruction, instead of being exactly identical, and can actually get to -8 AC/-8% Fort on its own."

The "on its own" phrase is a little mysterious. It could suggest that two people wielding Destruction weapons could apply a Destruction effect, get their personal stacks up to 4 (or a mutual stack up to 8), and have a total of -8 AC and -8% fortification.

Now, the implementation currently on Lamannia does not match the stated intent, and it's not clear that anyone at Turbine is aware of this despite the usual array of bug reports and forum posts. As we all know, when you ignore a problem it always goes away, so we should be in pretty good shape.

I believe "on its own" is meant to contrast between how improved destruction works on Live. Currently, improved destruction gives -4 AC, just like Destruction. However, they stack with each other. So the only way to get -8 AC using destruction is to use both destruction and improved destruction.

In contrast, the "new" Improved Destruction can achieve its maximum -8 ac/fort without dependency on Destruction. I believe that is what the quote meant.

I haven't tested it. I was just trying to clarify what seemed like an interpretation issue.

It's still on the front page of Lammania Discussion... Destruction/Improved Destruction are bugged.

However, tested on Lammania, and Improved Destruction with a quad-stack gives -4% Fortification, -4 AC.

Go into a Tavern Brawl with two characters. One must have Destruction and Improved Destruction weapons. For our test, we used a Favored Soul, Mserika of Sarlona as our "Dummy" with AC 15, 100% Fortification, and my Rogue, Oschkosch of Sarlona, with a +5 Khopesh of Destruction, and +5 Khopesh of Improved Destruction (Both Cannith Crafted).

    First Test:
    • Main-hand, +5 Khopesh of Improved Destruction, Off Hand Muckbane.
    • Four hits. Confirmed the quad-stack via character examination window.
    • 96% Fortification, 11 AC. Should have been 92% Fortification, 7 AC.

    Second Test:
    • Main-hand, +5 Khopesh of Destruction, Off Hand Muckbane.
    • Four hits. Confirmed the quad-stack via character examination window.
    • 96% Fortification, 11 AC. Working as Intended.

    Third Test:
    • Main Hand, +5 Khopesh of Improved Destruction, Off Hand +5 Khopesh of Destruction.
    • Hit FvS for about ten seconds of straight auto-attacking. Confirmed 4-stack.
    • 96% Fortification, 11 AC.

Regardless of combo used, Improved Destruction did not work "as described".

    Bug has been reported.
